#there was even what I can only describe as an OC put in there

Note
Agree with your last post. I'm so annoyed by people putting Pandora with Regulus, Barty and Evan or Dorcas with the Slytherin gang or idk what else. Like Pandora was Luna's mother, why are they making her to be friends with canon death eaters? Dorcas was killed by Voldemort personally, why are they making her to be so young? Idk it's making me sad that people don't even try to respect the canon story and its characters and expand upon that. Instead they completely butcher it. I understand having fun but these headcanons have completely overshadowed the correct information we have and people now pretend like they have some canon merit.
Pandora is Luna's mother, and that's all we know about her. At what point does she magically end up being the same age as the Marauders? Why turn her into a Rosier? Where did the ridiculous idea come from that she was best friends with Barty Crouch Jr.? Like, hello? She's not Luna's mother; she's just an OC someone made up to fit their narrative, and they justify her existence by saying sheâll eventually become that Pandora. End of story. Like everything they write and do. Their Marauders aren't the real Marauders. That's not James; it's some random guy they invented and slapped his name on, and the same goes for the rest of them. What even is a Dorcas Meadowes? Is that something you can eat? And what's a Marlene McKinnon? Nobody caresâthey're not real characters. We donât care about them, especially if you only include them to hit a lesbian target audience or so the stories arenât overwhelmingly male-centered and ridiculously problematic because the female presence and relevance donât even hit the minimum gender quotas from two decades ago, likeâŚ
They say "fuck canon," but only to have an excuse to whitewash psychopaths and portray them as twink icons. It makes no sense. I insist: they could create their own lore within the Harry Potter universe. Take all those OCs, remove the canon names of characters they have nothing in common with, give them original and unique names, and create a new category on AO3 for the lore you've created. You wouldnât be the first to do it, and itâs totally valid. And stop setting the stories in the '70s because all those OCs with canon names act like Gen Z kidsâor even Gen Alphasâliving in pre-Thatcher Britain, like, what the hell?
The best thing about the First Wizarding War universe years ago was that the CANON was unexplored, and you could create fascinating things. But always based on the CANON. Because no, âfuck canonâ doesnât work, because if you say âfuck canon,â then you're just talking about characters you donât like. You say youâre a fan of Sirius Black, but youâre not a fan of Sirius Black. Youâre a fan of an original fanfic character with traits that have nothing to do with Sirius Black, but you slapped his name on itâwhy? Sirius Black was the tallest, most handsome, and most masculine and violent of the Marauders in canon. He wasnât a girly, whiny twink. Rowling spends the ENTIRE saga CONSTANTLY emphasizing how masculine, how macho, how handsome, how masculine, how handsome, and (again) how masculine Sirius Black was. Over and over. The only other character Rowling insists so much on describing physically is Snape, but only to constantly point out how ugly he is and ironically assign him FEMININE traits. Snape, who is canonically unattractive but also canonically not masculine by patriarchal standards, is someone super macho types like Sirius mocked precisely for that.
I think the problem with this fandom is that they want to be the protagonists, the cool kids, the main characters everyone admires. But the reality of the canon is that both the Marauders and the pure-blood Slytherins of the era would have hated, mocked, and marginalized people with the characteristics fans assign to these characters in fandom. That Sirius the fandom adores wouldnât have lasted half an hour with the real teenage Sirius Black, who would have bullied him immediately for being âweird.â The fandomâs James would have been ridiculed by canon James, who wouldâve seen him as a total loser. Fandom Barty? Canon Barty wouldâve Crucioâd him to bits. Canon Regulus wouldâve paid someone to drown fandom Regulus. And yes, that Severus fandom inventedâa sort of rapist or somethingâwouldâve disgusted canon Severus, who didnât even dare say anything to Lily. But honestly, whoâs that fandom Lily? Because canon Lily didnât know what feminism was and was dying to have a traditional family before 20 with a rich guy who could give her financial stability. Like, seriously, xD.
Iâm sorry, but your OCs wouldnât last half an hour in '70s Hogwarts because both sides would tear them to pieces. And in the end, all the âfuck canonâ rhetoric is just a way to deny that they need to project themselves as protagonists, but they know they never would be in the Maraudersâ lore because, in that context, theyâd end up as bad or worse than Snape. And thatâs precisely why they hate Snape so muchâbecause that character constantly reminds them that, in fact, the Marauders were bullies. And they were bullies to those who didnât have the looks, social class, appearance, or clothes deemed acceptable. Snape is actually the closest thing to themselves that fans of the Marauders will ever find, and that reminds them that in that universe, they wouldâve been the nerds, losers, and outcasts of the class.
Iâm sorry for being so harsh, but itâs true. Theyâve invented characters in their own image, slapped canon names on them to feel important and central, but the reality is that the actual canon characters wouldâve bullied them so much theyâd have ended up the same or worse than Snape.

Y'ALL I'm havin a huge nerd moment because I found a video which I had assumed was lost to time
I dunno who decided to archive the page for the exact Youtube search query 'Sonic Heroes 2' back in 2019 but I CANNOT THANK THEM ENOUGH because not only did they preserve something that I considered important as a child but the archival of the page on the Wayback Machine allowed me to download that very video for safekeeping
#Grim rambles#GUYS I'M SHAKING SO MUCH RN /POS#anyways should I attach it?#would y'all be interested in seein it?#I was thinkin of puttin it on my own Youtube channel for archival purposes#or maybe even posting it here#but that video was so damn important to me as a kid#and it was literally fanmade team ideas for a potential Sonic Heroes 2#Sonic Heroes was one of my biggest fixations as a kid to the point I made fanart#I even got my dad to draw characters from this video too because when I was a kid-#I liked to make colouring page collages of these characters in their teams but since some characters were that obscure-#there were no printable colouring pages of em pff#so I asked my dad to draw certain characters#I think I got him to draw Sally Acorn specifically lmao#there was even what I can only describe as an OC put in there?#I was super attached to em nd after some research the only thing I could find about Blangel (the character) was fanmade box art with em#They literally look like a fusion of Silver and Shadow with added details but I loved em#I was considering makin a character inspired by em since it seems they don't belong to anybody#if that's like... considered an okay thing to do

Stupid people
Yandere!mafia!oc x reader
Summary: a number sends Silas a picture of darling that sends him into rage
Warnings: murder, mentions of NSFW, Silas lashes out towards darling, guilt, slight indication of a character asking if it was consensual (it was â the deed, not the pictures), pictures taken without permission, punching and kicking between legs
Word count: 2.7k
A/N: to clarify, the photos are taken AFTER the deed, not during!
There's only two people Silas likes enough to let them be in his office for more than asking a question â you and SIC.
âStupid people are my favorite kind of peopleâ, SIC says from the couch, eyes glued onto his phone. âSome idiot here tried to jump from a roof.â
âIf only our enemies did that so that i didn't have to go kill themâ, Silas smirks.
âSince when were we that lucky?â
A notification on his own phone caught his attention. Silas picks it up and unlocks it, seeing that the notification is from an unsaved number. He clenches his jaw. Photos. It takes a second for him to realize what â who â is in these two photos. He can recognise that back among millions. He sees that back every night, always holding it close to his chest.
âMotherfucker!â he shouts and rises from his chair in a swift.
âWhat?â SIC asks quickly, looking up from his screen.
Silas slams his phone down on the floor. It shatters and explodes in every direction. SIC jumps up from the couch.
âWoah, whatâs going on?â he asks quickly.Â
Silas can't reply. His heart is hammering in his throat. If he tries to speak, it'll jump out. His entire body is shaking. He's been mad before, but nothing compares to what he feels when you are involved.
âSilas?â SIC asks. âSit down.â
He presses Silas down in the chair again.
âWhat happened?â he asks. âGive me a real fucking answer this time.â
âSome disgusting little bitch sent me photos of Y/Nâ, he spits out, growing angrier by every word. âNaked, in a bed. I think you can figure out the rest yourself.â
SIC blinks. âShit. Who?â
Silas gestures manically towards the broken phone. âI didn't write the number down before I fucking smashed it!â
âAlright. I'll take out the sim card and put it in my phone. I can find out.â
âDon't look at the photos, got that? I'm not joking. I will beat you up if I find out that you've looked at the photos.â
âDon't worry, boss, I won't.â
Silas sighs in frustration. He storms out of his office, up the stairs and throws up the door to your shared bedroom. You're nowhere to be found.
âY/N!â he shouts angrily.
You come out of the bathroom, looking bewildered. A fear grows on your face when you realize how mad he is.
âWhat's wrong?â you ask quickly.
âWho the fuck have taken pics of you while having sex?!â he shouts. âWho is the low creature that has pictures of you?!â
Your eyes widen.
âWhat?â you ask. âSilas-â
He moves closer and you can't describe his demeanor in any other way than threatening. You stumble backwards, finally reaching the wall. Even when he's mad, he'd never do things to make you scared of him, never show you the side he shows his men and enemies. But this time, he doesn't seem to care about holding back. You get to see what everyone else sees.
âWhoever the little fucker is, I will shove that camera of his so far up his ass it'll puncture a lung, do you understand that?â Silas spits, face mere centimeters from your face.Â
âSilas, I-â, you stutter.
Silas grabs the perfume standing on the shelf beside you and sends it flying across The room, breaking against the wall. You watch on in complete horror. Not even in the basement is he this violent, not around you.
Behind him, you see SIC run into the room, stopping in the doorway. He watches on with wide eyes.
âWho is it?â he spits before raising his voice. âGive me the name of the worthless little creature! I'll kill him!â
âSilas, I don't know!â you shout loudly in order to be heard over his own shouting. Tears blurry your vision as silence fills the room. âI d-don't know, I swear! I have no knowledge of a-any pictures taken of me. Please donât be mad at me, I donât know anything, I s-swear âŚâ
You have wrapped your arms around yourself. You look so incredibly small. And helpless. He feels as if someone has punched him right in the stomach. He can't bring himself to shout at you. The fire in his eyes seems to blow out, leaving his eyes as dark as they should. He breathes heavily, feeling empty and painfully aware of everything around him â every little sound, movement. He finally realizes what's going on.
âFuckâ, he breathes out in a whisper and pulls you into his arms, into a tight embrace. âI'm so sorry.â
You sob into his shoulder, voice getting muffled in his white shirt. Silas hugs you as if his life depends on it.
âBaby, I didn't mean to shout at youâ, he whispers. âI'm not mad at you, I'm mad at that disgusting filth. Not you, do you understand?â
He pulls you back and covers your face in apologetic kisses, caressing your cheeks and wiping your tears.
âAre you okay?â he asks, grabbing your face and forcing you to look him in the eyes.
You nod slightly and sniffle. Still shaking, but not mortified.Â
âWhat pictures?â you ask with an unsteady voice.
Silas looks at SIC.
âDid you get the number?â he asks.
âNo, I didn't have time to move over the sim card before I heard the glass shattering.â
Silas clears his throat. His ears turn red.
âGo retrieve the number and then come backâ, he says.
SIC nods and walks out. Silas turns to you. He cups your cheeks and kisses your lips carefully.
âSorryâ, he says again.
âItâs ⌠okayâ, you mumble.
It doesn't seem to register for him. He has a guilty look in his black eyes.
âSilas ⌠what pictures?â you ask again, dreading the answer yet needing to know.
âThereâs nothing to worry about, I shouldnât have told you. I will take care of it, okay?â
âYou got so upset about it ⌠something must be wrong. Have someone taken pics of me while Iâve ⌠had sex?â
Silas canât tell you. He knows how distraught youâll be.Â
âNo, not while you had ⌠after you were done ⌠I donât knowâ, he says. âI could have misunderstood the pictures. I broke my phone right after seeing them.â He notices how you give him an unsure gaze as he mentions his phone. âI get worked up quickly.â
You sniffle. Silas wipes your tears again and hugs you even tighter, resting his cheek on the top of your head. He feels like a complete fool, how could he slip up like that? He would never shout at you, never make you feel threatened. For fuck sake, youâre supposed to seek shelter and comfort in him!
âAre you sure that youâre okay?â Silas asks.Â
âMhmâ, you mumble. âJust shaking.â
âI can tell.â His embrace tightens. âLetâs sit down, alright?â
He moves you to the bed and sits down with you beside him.Â
âWhat have you done today?â he asks and wraps his arm around your shoulders.Â
âIâve been watching some showsâ, you reply.Â
âWhich one?â
âSome cartoon ⌠I donât remember the name.â
âDo you think Iâd like it?â
You give him a small smile and shake your head. âNo, itâs too cheesy for you.â
Silas smiles. âWhat type of fucking stereotype is that? Show me and Iâll decide for myself.â
You reach for the tablet and show him a few minutes of the cartoon. He leans onto you, wrapping himself around you like a boa constrictor.Â
The door opens and SIC returns with his phone in his hand.Â
âGot itâ, he says and walks over to the bed. âY/N, take a look and-â
Silas slaps his hand away.Â
âAre you fucking out of your mind?â he scolds him. âYouâre not showing them those!â
SIC holds his phone out of Silasâs reach.Â
âI amâ, SIC replies.
Silas stands up. The animalistic, lredatory light is back in his eyes. You donât doubt that he would punch him.Â
âI am going to show these pictures to Y/N to confirm that they remember the sex happeningâ, SIC explains sharply. âBecause if they donât, we might have a worse crime on our hands.â
Silas doesnât reply. He seems to think, and seems to consider whether he should punch the man or not. He nods in defeat. SIC gives you the phone and you take a mortified look at the two pictures.Â
âDo you recognise where you are in these two pictures?â SIC asks. âDo you know when this was? Do you have memories of it?â
You look at the pictures, fearing that youâre not going to recognise the location or remember what happened ⌠or who you were with.
âI know when and where this isâ, you say. âIt was five years ago. I remember it.â
âYou're sure you remember it?â SIC asks.
âYes ⌠but I didn't know that he took pics âŚâÂ
âOkay, the fucker is deadâ, Silas decides.
âWhat was his name?â SIC asks.
ââEricâ somethingâ, you say. âI met him at a party. He was nice, or so i thought, and-â
Silas runs a hand through his black hair and sighs.
âI guess that he wasn't that niceâ, you mumble.
âPricks like that are never nice. They're just polite enough to lure people to get what they want. Who knows how many innocent people's photos he has on his hard drive?â
âSilas, can you do me a favor?â
âWhat?â
âIf you manage to find him-â
âNot if; when.â
âWhen you manage to find him, give him an extra punch from me, will you?â
Silas smiles. âI'll give him tenfolds.â
Finding him is easier than the poor fellow had anticipated. Silas pities him. He's either too stupid to know who he is or has a death wish. He can't decide which one is worse.
âGod, you're even uglier than i imaginedâ, Silas scoffs as he sees the man for the first time.
He's held up by two of his men, body pounded with punches beyond recognizable, but they've left his face untouched. That's for Silas to ruin.
âYou're even uglier than your mess of a bodyâ, he says, grabbing the man's face, tuning it carelessly. âWe haven't even touched this yet. What did you gain from this? Not a lot, I see. I mean, you're here, in my basement, about to be killed. Can't say that I understand your intentions.â
âDid you like the pictures?â Eric asks, voice drowning in painful moans.
ââDid i like the pictures?ââ Silas repeats, appalled by the man's lack of remorse. âI don't need your pitiful pictures. I get the full act from whatever angle I want.â
It shouldn't make him cocky, but bragging about it always fills him with pride.
âGive me his phoneâ, he orders.
One of his men digs up the phone from Eric's pocket. He forces him to unlock it.
âDo you take these types of pictures often?â Silas asks, eyes narrowing as he scrolls past hundreds of women sleeping in beds. âWhat even are these?â
âI take a picture of the woman after our session, after she's fallen asleepâ, Eric replies, âas a trophy.â
âAs a-â, he cuts himself off. âWhat the fuck is wrong with you?â
Silas hits him with all his might. Eric's head shoots backwards, his neck acting like a jojo to get it back. Blood runs down from his nose.
âDelete all the picturesâ, he tells SIC and gives him the phone. âFrom the phone, any cloud, any other hard-drive. These pictures will never be seen by anyone ever again.â
âYes, bossâ, SIC replies and takes the phone.
He disappears up the stairs. Silas turns to Eric.
âHow did you get my number?â he asks. âAnd, when you got it, didn't you check to see who it belonged to? You're pretty stupid.â
âI just know that the number belonged to Y/Nâs new boyfriendâ, Eric replies.
âHusband.â
It shouldn't fill him with such pride at a moment like this, yet it does.Â
âYou're going to die now anyway, so it doesn't matter if I tell you my nameâ, Silas says.Â
One of his men gives him a knife with a long shiny blade.
âBossâ, SIC says from the top of the stairs. âY/Nâs here.â
Silas hurries to give the knife back and gestures for him to hide it.Â
âIâll come upstairsâ, he says.Â
Before he has time to move, you've bursted past SIC. He tries to grab at you, but you're already half down the stairs.
âYou absolute worthless piece of shitâ, you spit.
Silas raises his eyebrows.Â
Oh?
You run right over to Eric and slap him. Silas stands stunned. It takes him a few moments to gather himself and stop looking like a fool. He turns to the stairs where SIC stands, holding his hand over his face, laughing silently. He folds and has to hold onto the wall.
âHow could you take such pictures?â you ask him. âWhat gave you the right?â
Silas grabs your shoulder to pull you away from him, but you shake him off.
âIt's not like I took pics while we had sexâ, Eric says, voice sounding even more painful.
Silas smirks. He can already tell that'll happen by the way your eyes widen. And he won't stop it. Won't even try to. You hit the man again and kick him between the legs. He tries to curl up, but is being held up by Silasâs men.Â
âOkay, okayâ, Silas says and grabs your shoulders, pulling you backwards. âEnough of that. SIC, take Y/N to the bedroom and make sure they stay there.â
SIC grabs you out of his arms. Silas grabs the knife once more.Â
âWhat should we start with?â he asks, spinning the knife. âYour hands? Arms? Legs? Decide, coward.â
SIC forces you upstairs before he has the time to cut off any body parts.
âLet me go!â you mutter.Â
âJust stay quiet until we get up to the bedroomâ, SIC says. âNice shot you got, by the way. I know it caught Silas by surprise. Thatâs hard to do, you know.â
âHe deserves more.â
âAnd Silas will give him that, donât you worry. That is not your job. You got two punches and one kick in, thatâs enough.â
WHen you try to run back downstairs, he picks you up over his shoulder and continues upstairs.Â
âDonât give me more troubleâ, he sighs.Â
SIC walks into the bedroom and places you down on the floor before barricading the door with his body to make sure youâre not making a run for it.Â
âThe pictures are goneâ, SIC says. âAll of them â of you and of other people.â
âHow many were there?â
âHundreds. All taken when they had fallen asleep afterwards. He kept them like trophies.â
The door opens before heâs done with his sentence. Silas walks in, finally looking pleased.Â
âDona already?â SIC asks.Â
âI got impatientâ, he mutters and closes the door. âLittle thing, are you okay?â
You nod. Silas hugs you, kissing the top of your head. He still feels awful about shouting at you. He squeezes you even tighter.Â
âThank youâ, you say quietly. âYou helped not only me but also a lot of other people. Thatâs a good thing.â
His heart clenches. He has apologized a million times and you have forgiven him ⌠but he canât seem to forgive himself. It all happened so quickly, yet it lingers in him.Â
âOf courseâ, he says. âScumbags need to be taken care of the right way. I kind of pitied the man. He must have been extremely stupid to let me know about him. Good that he was stupid though.â
Thinking about him makes him furious once more, but he reminds himself that itâs over. He has gotten his punishment ⌠and Silas has saved people. Innocent people should never be punished for crimes they didnât commit.
No one will ever see any those pictures again. No one will have to deal with that man ever again.Â

â LADY OF THE ROSES (I)
PART TWO || PART THREE || PART FOUR
PAIRING â Ser Gwayne Hightower x fem!Reader // Tyrell!OC
SUMMARY â When Lord Tyrell organizes a huge tournament, the rumour has it that the winner might get his eldest daughter's hand in marriage. When she finds out that certain twins are not playing fair and are scheming together with her father to win, she finds herself a champion she wants to succeed instead â Ser Gwayne Hightower, who was sent by his father to win the tournament.
AUTHORâS NOTE â Itâs written as an usual x Reader fic without describing anything about the Readerâs looks but I still classified it as an OC as well since she is a Tyrell. Although I am not sure if we have even seen them in House of The Dragon, so they can literally look like anything...? đ¤ Thank you so much for reading my last fic with Gwayne and leaving lovely comments and messages! đš It inspired me to write for him again and I already have more ideas for him and a Tyrell Lady Wife (although I don't think the fics will be connected, so they can be read separately). For some reason it makes SO MUCH SENSE to me for Gwayne to have a wife from Highgarden! Some sexual things are mentioned here but there is no actual smut, so I didn't put the warnings. đ
WORD COUNT â 5,040
ENGLISH IS MY SECOND LANGUAGE.
LADY OF THE ROSES (I)
Beautiful courtyards of Highgarden were filled with tents and knights. The sound of horses and clinging armour reached your ears as you were taking a stroll between the tents â against your fatherâs wish. He didnât want you to walk freely around all those knights but you had your own guards and your curiosity had no match because you knew perfectly well what that expensive and flashy tournament was about.
You were in the right age to marry â some would say the age was more than right, too right even. You were Lord Tyrellâs eldest daughter and out of all the three sisters, you were the only one who still remained unmarried. The reasons behind that were two. First of all, you were a picky and proud Lady. Second of all, you didnât want to leave Highgarden and The Reach.
Your father hoped that your marriage would create a powerful alliance and as a daughter of The Lord Paramount of the Reach and The Warden of the South, you were quite a catch for your suitors. Walking amongst them, you saw them turning around and staring at you with smirks. You were the only Lady around and your pale green dress was showing off just enough of your virtues in a typical Highgarden fashion. There were golden roses in your hair and golden eyeshadow on your eyelids as you were all dolled up for the first day of the tournament.
You took a turn around the Lannister tent and you hissed at the sight of your father. Thankfully, he was not looking in your direction and you managed to hide behind your guards but you ordered them to stand still. You wondered why your father was even by the Lannister tent. Talking so openly to one of the knights participating in the tournament was a clear favouritism.
âThank you, Lord Tyrell, your support means a lot,â Lord Lannister said and you tried to see him better from between your guardsâ shoulders. You didnât like him at all since arrogance was written all over his face.
âIt is no secret for all the men here that I would like you to win. It is a formality,â your father lowered his voice. âAn alliance between such big houses⌠It would make us both stronger,â he put his arm around The Lannister. âBut I liked the idea of the tournament. It has splendour, donât you think? I like to show off,â you father grinned.
âAs I said before, I am no knight. My younger twin brother is,â Lord Lannister said and your father looked around before shushing him and they both entered the tent.
Curiously, with furrowed brow, you peeked inside the tent despite your guardsâ protests. And you nearly gasped at the sight of another man inside who was being prepared for the tournament as a squire was putting his armour on. He looked identical to the man your father was talking to.
âMy brother, Ser Tyland, will pretend to be me during the tournament. No one will know,â Lord Lannister told your father and your father nodded at that. âI will sit and watch, pretending to be him. I will be criticising his techniques out loud just like a real knight would criticise his foolish brother who takes part in a tournament without being a knight,â he explained, very proud of himself.
He wouldnât be the only man who wanted to take part in this tournament without the title of the knight. After all, everyone was aware that the prize was your hand in marriage and you didnât necessarily need a knight. There were lots of common Lords joining the tournament but they were all honest with their intentions. Not only Lord Jason Lannister had your fatherâs favouritism but he also was planning to obviously cheat by using his brother.
It made you angry as you carefully took a step back and nodded at your guards to follow you down the path. It seemed like the whole tournament was just a show and a theatre play â you were no longer excited since the end result seemed to be fixed. You would be sent to Lannisport to marry that annoying and arrogant Lord Jason Lannister. Tears filled your eyes and you didnât even care about your makeup anymore since you no longer longed for the tournament to begin.
You walked past the greenest tent around and saw a man in auburn hair washing his face outside. He noticed your staring and looked up with a dashing smile. He recognised you immediately from the portraits and your clothes. Also, what other Lady would dare to take a walk here? Only the one for whom the tournament was taking place.
âLady Tyrell,â he bowed his head but his blue eyes were still on you.
You sniffled your tears back and straightened yourself.
âLordâŚ?â You asked and turned your head to see the banner on the tent. âLord Hightower? No, that cannot be. Lord Hightower is in Kingâs Landing, is he not? And he is much older. He is The Hand of The King Viserys,â you tilted your head a little.
âYou mean Otto Hightower, my Lady,â the man nodded with a smile as he approached you. His armour wasnât fully on yet and you could see his shirt slightly open. âI am his eldest son, Ser Gwayne Hightower,â he introduced himself and reached his hand out.
After a while of hesitation, you allowed him to kiss the palm of your hand.
âSer Gwayne Hightower. You are a brother to our Queen Alicent! Are you to inherit Oldtown after your fatherâs death?â You asked.
âThat is correct, My Lady,â he nodded and straightened his back.
You hummed to yourself. Oldtown was in The Reach and it was the second largest and most populated city in the Seven Kingdoms. To get there from Highgarden, a horse needed around ten days down the Roseroad. You had been there before a few times with your parents but you had never met Ser Gwayne before.Â
You looked him up and down. He had a cocky grin on his face but there was something about him that you actually quite liked â especially compared to Lord Jason Lannister. Ser Gwayne seemed to be confident but in a different, less exasperating way.
âDid your father encourage you to take part in this tournament, Ser Gwayne?â You asked him as you raised an eyebrow at him. âI do believe he is known for being an ambitious man.â
âYes, my father insisted on me taking part,â Ser Gwayne admitted. âBut I do not mind it myself.â
You nodded at that. Well, a union between your houses seemed to be right. You were both from The Reach and perhaps The Tyrells were more significant but The Hightowers were a real power, especially now. Sadly, your father seemed to be fixated on that whole idea of you marrying a Lannister.
Unless⌠Unless you would interfere somehow.
Your silence was interpreted by Ser Gwayne as a sign of exhaustion or boredom, though. He nodded his head and took a step back.
âIt was nice to meet you before the tournament, my Lady,â he bowed his head. âI know there are dozens of knights around but, please, do remember about me while choosing your champion, I humbly ask,â he gave you one more dashing smile before walking inside his tent.
As a Lady for whom the tournament was taking place, you had the right to choose your champion. A man you favoured. Although, since the unofficial prize was your hand in marriage, it would be very awkward for a man who was not your champion to win. You assumed that your father would try to force you to choose Lord Jason Lannister.
And you had been right. Now, when you were holding a golden rose prepared for this occasion as all the knights were standing in front of you and your family in the audience, your father squeezed you by your elbow. He leaned in to whisper into your ear:
âYou shall give the rose to Lord Jason Lannister and name him your champion,â he said with a fake smile before moving away.
You swallowed thickly and took a step ahead to be able to reach the man you would choose. You glanced at The Lannister man on the horse â Tyland, pretending to be Jason. And in the audience nearby you there he sat â Jason, pretending to be Tyland. Your eyes met for a second and he grinned at you confidently although he had no idea you were aware of his plan.
You searched for a different pair of eyes now, amongst all the knights. And then you found them, the blue ones. His armour had beautiful ornaments and even his horse was armoured. It all looked so elegant and you smiled at the sight.
You bit on your lower lip. But was he a good knight? Did he actually stand a chance to win?
Well, you were about to find out.
âSer Gwayne Hightower,â you took a few steps to the right to be closer to him as he commanded his horse to take a few steps ahead. âI choose you to be my champion,â you smiled at him and leaned in to hand him the golden rose.
âLady (Y/N) Tyrell, it is an honour,â he bowed his head and you saw in his eyes that he was quite surprised that you had named him amongst all the men your champion. He took the rose from you carefully and pinned it to his armour before closing his helmet and returning to the other knights.
You took a deep breath in before walking away to take your seat. Your fatherâs burning gaze was nearly painful but your mother kept smiling, unaware of the schemings.
âThatâs Otto Hightowerâs eldest son. The Queen is his sister,â your mother babbled to your father. âOur daughter has chosen wisely,â she smiled at you. âAnd heâs handsome and quite young.â
Your father ignored her words and gave you a deadly glare instead but you only huffed and walked away, locking your eyes with Lord Jason again. The real one, sitting in the audience. He was not grinning anymore.
Thankfully, Ser Gwayne turned out to be an excellent knight. Sadly, so was Ser Tyland Lannister, pretending to be his brother Lord Jason.
On the second day of the tournament, they already got rid of most of their opponents as they defeated them in combat. Some of the knights were seriously wounded.
On the third day it was already known that the last duel would be between Ser Gwayne and Ser Tyland. Everyone was taking bets and your father was gritting his teeth.
All this time, you were carefully watched by him and you had no opportunity to speak to any of the men taking part in the tournament. But on the night before the last, fourth, day when the final duel would take place, your father had thrown a feast, during which you were approached by Ser Jason Lannister.
Or Ser Tyland. Were they pretending to be each other during feasts as well? You were tempted to ask but you had no courage to do so.
âLady Tyrell, there should be songs about your beauty,â he bowed his head and you bowed down.
âLord Lannister,â you mumbled out, uninterested. âWhy arenât you busy writing them then?â
Your mother looked at you with terror in her eyes but you ignored her.
âOh, believe me, I do not have time for such frivolities although I wish I had. However, my duties in Lannisport are many. My treasure is full and I shall spoil you with my goods when you are my Lady Wife,â he grinned at you, luring you with his wealth.
âYou sound so sure that youâre going to win, my Lord,â you pointed out.
âOh, I am sure. Ever since you named that Hightower knight your champion, I am determined to show him his place. But I hold no resentment towards you for your choice. I do realise that you, women from The Reach, like to tease,â he winked at you and you had to pretend his words were not an insult. Even your mother gasped a little at his boldness.
âI cannot believe you would spoil me with your wealth for nothing in return, my Lord,â you raised an eyebrow, curious of the response.
âWell, of course not. Like every husband I want my wife to be obedient, easy on the eye and give me many, healthy children,â he informed you. âSons, I mean,â he fixed himself. That arrogant smirk was still on his face.
âI think your father is calling us,â your mother saved the day as she quickly took you by the arm and excused you both to walk you away from Lord Jason. âOh, what an insufferable man! Sadly, your father seems to be fixated on the idea of you marrying him. And you know, dear (Y/N), after all the matches you had dismissed in the past⌠You just canât say no now. Especially at your age,â she looked at you sternly, but still worried.
You didnât answer that. You simply nodded your head and walked away to go outside and catch a breath.
You kept walking ahead of you, leaving the noise of the party behind you. You wanted to be alone and despite the darkness, you knew where you were going because you knew this garden better than yourself.
You entered the maze to hide in your favourite spot but after a while you heard unfamiliar steps behind you. You gasped and turned around to see a male silhouette, which caused a shiver go down your spine. If something happened to you now, unguarded and with no one to rescue if you called for help⌠You didnât even want to imagine the consequences.
âThat is only me, my Lady,â you heard a familiar voice and the man took a few steps ahead. It was Ser Gwayne Hightower, smiling at you.
âSer Gwayne!â You pretended to sigh with relief but the truth was that you didnât trust him either. You trusted no man who was creeping up on a Lady like that. âWe shouldnât be left alone without a chaperone,â you pointed out.
âForgive me, I saw you running away and quite upset. I wanted to make sure nothing bad would happen to you as you wandered off from the crowd without any guards following you,â he lowered his voice as he approached you.
You swallowed thickly. He was right in front of you and behind you there was a tall live-fence that was making it impossible to escape. As he leaned in, his auburn hair fell onto his face and you felt it tickling your cheeks. That close he was.
âHow chivalrous of you,â you breathed out, starting to feel dizzy. You had never been so close with a man.
He looked down, his gaze fixated on your tight, revealing dress. Your breasts were squeezed under the silky golden fabric.
âWhat if I donât win tomorrow?â He asked as he lifted his eyes up again to meet yours. âLord Jason is surprisingly good, especially for a man who is not a knight.â
âItâs because itâs not him,â you confessed with a heavy sigh and Ser Gwayne furrowed his brow at you.
âAre you suggesting thatâŚ?â
âI am not suggesting, Ser. It is true. I know from the very beginning, I have overheard them talking to my father. My father wants me to marry Lord Jason Lannister and this tournament is nothing but a show-off. He was angry at me for choosing you as my champion,â you told him.
Ser Gwayne seemed to be confused as he took a step back and you surprised yourself because you wanted him close again.
âThat is⌠Unhonourable and disrespectful,â he pointed out. âDo you wish for Lord Jason to win as well, my Lady?â He looked at you, intensely.
âNo! Why would I choose you as my champion then, Ser?â You shook your head, desperate to make him believe you.
âTo toy with me, perhaps. Or to tease Lord Lannister,â Ser Gwayne pointed out.
âI do not wish to have anything in common with that man,â you huffed.
âAnd me? You do not know me, do you, my Lady?â Ser Gwayne smirked as he leaned in again, his nose nearly brushing yours as he put his right hand on the live-fence above you. You felt so small underneath him suddenly.
âWhat do you expect from a wife, Ser Gwayne?â You asked, swallowing a lump in your throat and he looked confused at that question as if it was a stupid thing to ask.
âLoyalty, of course,â he answered.
âAnd thatâs it?â Now you were the surprised one. âWhat about children?â
âWell, it would be nice to have them, donât you think, my Lady?â Ser Gwayne chuckled and rubbed your nose with his.
âWhat if I am flawed like my mother and I can give you only daughters?â You bit on your lower lip, slowly getting drunk at the feeling of having him so close.
âThen we shall make them all great ladies of great houses. My sister is The Queen. Us, Hightowers, we are ambitious,â he told you. âAnd I have many younger brothers who can produce their male heirs. The future of my family is safe whatever I do,â he assured you and raised his other hand to caress your cheek with his fingertips.
At first, you got startled at his touch as if it was causing you pain because you were not used to being touched like this by a male hand. But then, after a short while, you gave in and hummed to yourself, making him smirk.
You leaned back onto the live-fence and arched your back, connecting your crotch with his. You had no idea what made you do that⌠It was as if your instincts were telling you what to do. And it felt good.
âDonât,â Gwayne scolded you and took a step back as you whined.
âArenât you here to claim me just in case you lose the duel tomorrow?â You asked, feeling your cheeks heating up. You couldnât believe the boldness of your own words.
Lord Lannister had been right about the women from The Reach, apparently.
âPerhaps you should have not made me your champion, Lady Tyrell, if you think so lowly of me,â Ser Gwayne bowed his head and turned around to walk away, leaving you alone; confused and full of embarrassment.
One thing was certain â he was messing with your head. You couldnât stop thinking of him all night long, touching yourself to the thoughts of him standing so close, to the memory of his touch and his voice.
You would rather die than marry Lord Jason Lannister. Any attempt to imagine anyone else other than Ser Gwayne touching you, was making you physically sick.
You watched with fear, clenching your fists on the railing and leaning down to see better although, at the same time, you didnât want to see; you were that scared.
You knew that people had been betting on who would win this combat. And more people had bet on The Lannister. Your eyes followed the golden rose attached to Ser Gwayneâs armour, though. You only wanted to keep looking at him as you prayed to the gods old and new for his victory.
The combat was fierce and long. Both of the horses got hurt and taken away and the two opponents were standing face-to-face now, having to duel with their swords on the ground.
Lord Jason Lannister â the real one, the one in the audience â stood up and clenched his fists on the railing, too, as he watched his twin brother.
âCome on!â He yelled and that was when the other Lannister struck Ser Gwayne down. âYes! Thatâs right!â He cheered alongside the audience. Then, he looked at you with a smirk.
âSer Gwayne!â You exclaimed in a high-pitched, scared voice.
To your relief, your champion stood up after taking the blow and you clenched your fists even tiger around the railing. You wouldnât be surprised if you broke the wood with your hands.
After a few more attempts to strike each other down, both opponents were roaring with frustration. And then you spotted Ser Gwayne taking his helmet off and throwing it aside as people gasped.
Was he insane? You had been thinking that he was a rational man but apparently much less than you expected.
He looked up at you and nodded his head as the wind ruffled his auburn hair a little. You had to admit that he was presenting himself very handsome and you were aware that the helmet was limiting his view during combat but it was still very risky.
When you nodded back, he went back to the fight. His strikes and blows were fast and determined as if the fight was to death. You held your breath whenever he would get a punch or a strike since he was wearing no helmet. However, he seemed to be doing much better now.
Eventually, The Lannister was laying down and not standing up for quite a long time now as Ser Gwayne spat some blood out and looked up again â his face covered in blood and a few bruises but other than that, he was fine.
Your father stood up, carefully, before walking up to you to see with his own eyes. He hesitated and froze instead of announcing the winner and the whole audience was now looking at him.
âYou shall announce my champion the winner,â you reminded him and he swallowed thickly.
âI⌠I announce Ser Gwayne Hightower the winner of this tournament. Congratulations!â He exclaimed and turned around this very instant to sit back down on his chair.
âYou fought bravely, Ser Tyland,â Ser Gwayne helped his opponent to stand up as everyone froze at his words. âOh, Lord Jason, do forgive me,â he nodded at him with a smirk before leaving the field.
Your heart picked up its pace and you couldnât help a big grin. You glanced at The Lannister in the audience and he gave you a very unpleasant look this time. You couldnât blame him, really. Ser Gwayneâs little mistake would make people gossip about The Lannisters cheating in the tournament. It was bringing you lots of satisfaction.
You were about to excitedly leave your parentsâ side, when your father grabbed your wrist and stopped you.
âWhere are you going?â He asked, harshly.
âTo see my champion!â You answered him.
âAbsolutely not,â your father shook his head. âYou are coming with me to meet with The Lannister brothers,â he told you and both you and your mother widened your eyes at him.
âFather⌠Ser Gwayne has won the tournament⌠Fairly,â you pointed out.
âYou said that the winner would have (Y/N)â hand in marriage,â your mother reminded him.
âIt was never officially announced, was it?â He barked at the both of you. âIt was just a rumour.â
âDo you want to enrage The Hand of The King by disrespecting his son? Do you want to enrage The Queen herself by disrespecting her brother?â You asked him.
Your father let go of your wrist but he kept staring at you with anger and resentment in his eyes.
âWhy did you want The Lannisters to win so badly?â You asked him. âTo the point of letting them play it dirty and cheat?â You continued as your motherâs eyes were widening. âI have overheard your conversation on the first day while taking a stroll between the tents like you had forbidden me to,â you admitted. âWhy, father?â
âMy Lord Husband?â Your mother asked him, enraged by what she had just heard.
âPerhaps you have also overheard the part where I was saying that the tournament is a nice show-off,â he explained.
âI do understand why you threw the tournament. The question was not about that,â you raised an eyebrow at him and crossed your arms.
âWealth,â was all he said after a short silence.
âAnd⌠thatâs it?â You asked, disappointed.
Your father nodded and looked away.
âWealth and splendour. An alliance between The Tyrells and The Lannisters would be a powerful one. And their treasure is big,â he added.
You opened your mouth to say something but you had no words.
âYour foolish sisters!â He continued as he raised his voice suddenly. âOne married some Dornish lesser Lord and the other went up North to marry a knight in The Vale! The Ladies of House Tyrell! I should have been creating powerful alliances with you, foolish girls, but, no, all of you know better! All of you!â He yelled at you as your mother began to calm him down.
âI would never marry a man without an honour like Lord Jason Lannister,â you only said. âA cheater who plays dirty by using his brother because he knows very well that he would lose his very first combat if it was him down there,â you finished.
Without any other word, you hurried downstairs to run up to Ser Gwayneâs tent. His squire was working on removing his armour off of his body and you approached him to cup his bruised face splashed with blood.
âSer GwayneâŚâ You started and then you swallowed thickly and looked down, remembering your encounter with him from the previous evening and the things you had been thinking of at night.
âLady Tyrell,â he nodded at you with a smile.
âAre you alright, Ser? What has gotten into you to take the helmet off?â You asked as you dared to look up again, right into his blue eyes.
âIt was limiting my view,â he answered. âI am alright, my Lady, no need to worry about me.â
âAre you always that irresponsible, Ser?â You asked yet another question. After all, it was important to know if he was supposed to be your Lord Husband.
âNever, my Lady. But it was rather an important combat, was it not?â He raised an eyebrow at you and you smiled widely at him.
You let go of his face as you took a few steps back to let his squire continue his work with the armour.
âI shall leave you now,â you nodded. âThank you.â
âThe pleasure is all mine, Lady Tyrell,â Ser Gwayne bowed his head slightly as he watched you walking out of his tent.
There was a feast again on that evening but instead of being with the guests, your father was locked in the library with Ser Gwayne, discussing the unofficial prize of the tournament â your hand in marriage.
You were pacing around the corridor, all dolled up for the party in a pastel pink dress but with no interest to walk down and participate in the celebrations. You were afraid that your father would be rude to Ser Gwayne or scare him off, so you wanted to be around just in case you needed to put out some fire.
At first, you had chosen Ser Gwayne Hightower to be your champion simply to annoy your father and to avoid showing any favours to Lord Jason Lannister. But as the time progressed â especially after last night⌠â you just wanted to become Ser Gwayneâs wife. You would still live in The Reach and have your mother quite close but at the same time youâd be away from your father and his constant remarks of remaining unmarried despite your age.
Oldtown was an important place on the map of Westeros and you would be The Queenâs sister-in-law. Your father would be foolish to choose Lannister's gold over that honour.
The doors opened finally and you saw your father who was visibly surprised at the sight of you nervously pacing outside the library.
âAre you curious or nosy, dear daughter?â He asked you with his eyebrow raised.
âPerhaps both,â you answered.
âEither way,â your father shrugged, taking a step aside and revealing Ser Gwayne standing behind him, âthat is not a problem of mine to deal with anymore,â he finished. âDisciplining her might be a challenge,â he chuckled at Ser Gwayne.
âWith all respect, Lord Tyrell, I am not Lady (Y/N)âs father to discipline her,â Ser Gwayne nodded at him and approached you to hold your hands in his as he looked at your face. âWe are going to get married, my Lady,â he announced to you and you smiled widely at him, feeling a huge wave of relief washing all over you. Relief, happiness and⌠excitement.
âWhen?!â Was all you asked before looking at your fatherâs face. He seemed to watch you carefully but wasnât as displeased as before, right after the tournament.
âSer Gwayne is running Oldtown in the name of his father so he must return there immediately tomorrow morning,â your father answered. âWe will escort you to him for the wedding once all the preparations are finished. It shouldnât take more than a few weeks.â
âA few weeks?!â You whined. âHow am I supposed to wait for so long?â
Ser Gwayne chuckled at that and so did your father as you felt your cheeks heating up.
âYou have been waiting for so long to get married, my dear, you can surely hold off a few weeks more,â your father pointed out.
But he didnât understand. Now, when you actually wanted to become a wife and found a man worthy enough to be called your Lord Husband, you didnât want to wait a day longer. However, being whiny about it would only make you look childish and desperate.
âI shall wait then,â you sighed and looked down in defeat.
âAnd I shall prepare The Hightower for your arrival, my Lady,â Ser Gwayne nodded at you. âWhat is your favourite colour, may I ask, my Lady, just so I know how to tell my people to decorate your new chambers?â
âItâs green, Ser Gwayne,â you answered with a soft smile. âGreen and yellow like the colours of my house.â
âSomething tells me we are going to be an excellent match,â Ser Gwayne smirked at your answer with a wink.

Background & Personality:
Maisie is sweet, energetic, kind and empathetic, some people would even describe her as naive... Which couldn't be farther from the truth. She's born into a wealthy family that taught her and her sister everything there is to know about music and art, and just like her older sister, she pursued a music career at an early age, being known for her angelic voice. Still, despite her sweet personality and loving persona, Maisie can be very feisty to those who test her patience and wrong her or her loved ones; as she puts it: "my good opinion once lost is lost forever", which makes her susceptible to holding grudges.
Maisie is the youngest of two sisters, having an 11 year age gap with her oldest sister, and she's the aunt of Grace â @4necdote's OC. Grace and her family lost their fortune for a few years due to her sister's music producer taking advantage of them; during this time, Maisie did her best to support and help her family in every way, shape and form, working herself to the bone despite her young age to make sure they were safe and sound. Once her sister fell in love with a good man and got her fortune back, Maisie remembered her childhood dream of falling in love and building her own family, her own romantic fantasies that were once lost and locked deep into her subconscious due to what happened to her family came flooding back into her heart after this. Still, despite this, the damage of what happened to her sister made Maisie more wary of people in general, making her too difficult to please and really picky when it comes to her romantic partners, being scared of opening her heart to most people that weren't her family.
Fun facts: Maisie is a jazz singer, and despite being well-known, she's less famous than her older sister, who's an opera singer; Maisie is often mistaken for being much younger than she actually is, and it's one of her insecurities; Maisie has only had 1 boyfriend despite her age, due to her unrealistic standards, and her first kiss was awful and she prefers to not talk about it please; she's albino
Basic info:
Height: 160cm
Age: 25
Nicknames: Mai (by friends and family), Whiskers and Ribbons (by Fellow)
Birthday: December 11th
Dominant hand: left
Favorite food: sole meunière
Occupation: singer
Hobbies: playing the piano, painting
Homeland: Shaftlands
Unique Magic: [to be added]
Relationships:
Grace ( @4necdote's OC): Maisie is Grace's aunt, but due to their small age gap, Maisie and Grace feel more like two sisters. They're very fond of each other, especially because of the period of time where Maisie had to take care of her family; Grace is often referred to as Maisie's favorite nephew, and Grace is always the one to receive Maisie's clothes when she needs to get rid of her old ones. Maisie usually tries to give Grace advice, and despite her lack of experience, she's usually wonderful at helping Grace with her romantic life, helping her realize her feelings towards Floyd once she complained about the boy to her aunt.
⥠Fellow Honest: because I still need to know more about Fellow due to not knowing the full story of Playful Land, I can't go into detail about their story, however! Fellow and Maisie are exes, him being the only boyfriend she's ever had. His playful demeanor and charming persona managed to sweep her off her feet, and Fellow genuinely fell for Maisie as well... But due to issues relating to Fellow's life, Fellow betrayed her trust and they broke up, but both of them still have strong feelings towards each other.
Gidel: Maisie had, and still has, a soft spot towards Gidel. She sees him as a sweet and wonderful boy, and often encourages him to seek his dreams and grow as a person. Gidel clings to her and views her as an older sister, and because of this he was deeply hurt once they had to part ways due to Fellow and Maisie's breakup.
Vil Schoenheit: after learning he's Grace's housewarden, Maisie keeps an eye out for him in order to know if he treats her nephew well, and upon learning about his personality and how he treats others, Maisie is very pleased with him, even taking an interest in his work and complimenting his acting and singing in the times she manages to see him.
Floyd Leech: Maisie finds Floyd... Interesting, to say the least. Despite this, she can see how much he cares for and loves her nephew, and because of that she gives him his full support, often helping him out and making ways for them to spend time together, much to Grace's dismay.
Sam: Maisie and Sam are childhood friends. They went to school around the same time, and Maisie was a victim of many of Sam's tricks and schemes â although they were all made with light hearted intentions. Although they went to different schools, they saw each other rather frequently and keep in touch even today, Sam sometimes attending her shows and Maisie making sure to advertise his business whenever she can.
Crewel: Maisie met him when she grew up through Sam, and they hit it off right from the get go. They usually talk about fashion together and often shop together when they want to catch up, and at some point, Crewel tried making attempts to flirt with her. Unfortunately, due to still having feelings towards Fellow, Maisie wasn't able to reciprocate, so their relationship is purely platonic, however Crewel wouldn't mind taking her on a date if she ever decided to give him the opportunity.

Smut Writing Tips
I could go on for 600 years on this so I cut myself off at seven basic tips for improving your smut writing. I don't know how to name this something that isn't suggestive so fuck it we ride at dawn etc. If you're having trouble writing smut/improving your smut writing, here are a few things that might help? I'm not the ultimate authority, do whatever you want, take what serves you and leave the rest, etc.
1) Get in touch with what turns you on. You can take this literally or figuratively. You don't have to be sexually active or even sexually aroused to write smut! It's not required. But you should know what gets you going, you know? Because whatever you're into, there are other people out there who are into it, too. Writing the things you're passionate about translates to the page. If you're disconnected from what you're writing, it's going to read that way.
2) Practice by translating a personal fantasy to text. THIS IS FOR YOU ONLY. Unless you like it enough to share? But this is an exercise to get you past the initial discomfort and embarrassment of writing sexy scenes. Many of us have romantic or sexual fantasies, even those on the ace/aro spectrum. When they live in our head, they feel safe. When we put them to the page, they suddenly EXIST in a space where someone else can theoretically perceive them. Getting comfortable with that takes a little bit of work/practice.
3) Try writing from the POV of the subject of the reader's desire. When I smut, I write from my OC's POV sometimes, but more often... I write from Astarion's. That's intentional. It's hot to feel DESIRED, to feel WANTED. Being in the subject's head means that the reader is experiencing that desire for themselves. There's power and sexiness in knowing you're making someone feel that way.
4) Physical description and positioning is great, but how do they FEEL? If you've ever heard the term "male gaze," you know it's frequently applied to visual media, especially where the subjects are treated as objects to be observed rather than people with interior thought and feeling. Smut WRITING gives us the opportunity to both describe the actions taking place and also the internal responses of the characters. It's not just what goes where, it's how that makes the body feel, the mind, the heart. It deepens the scene. Not everything needs to be "making love," but the tension and character interaction are still vital.
5) Realism is a fine base but it's not required. Look, there are a lot of smut tropes out there that are not REMOTELY based on reality and we love them anyway because a big part of this style of writing is the FANTASY of the thing. Like, yes, it's going to take some readers out if you're describing a position that's not physically possible. That's something that should be workshopped. But like. People come here for sex pollen and knotting. It's okay to be a little weird. Just consider the fantasy logistics.
6) Sometimes a little humor or awkwardness adds to the experience. Not everything has to be peak romance of the highest order, you know? Sex is messy and weird. If the participants can be a bit messy and weird together, it's both character-building and endearing. Don't be afraid to be like, oh this resulted in fluids and now we have to take care of that.
7) The tension is as important as the cumshot. Yeah I said that. An important piece of writing burning-hot smut is properly building tension. You can do that in a few words or many words. The ANTICIPATION, the WANTING, the not-quite-there-but-god-I-wanna-be of it all. It makes the release that much sweeter.

YANDERE! DELINQUENT! OC x READER
As celebration for 1K followers and 1K likes on the HAIRPIN | POPPED short fic. I have drawn a sketch of Mori and made another fic for you all ! Enjoy ;D
Please read the previous fic linked above for context.
warnings: [y/n] is masc leaning though i donât use anything specific to describe them. [y/n] is kind of a terrible person. perv! mori. mentions of sex. underwear theft. stalking. m. masturbation.
IT TOOK MORI AN EMBARRASSING AMOUNT OF TIME TO NOTICE THAT YOU TWO WERE IN THE SAME CLASS. But now that he knew, he made sure to attend as much as he can. Shamelessly staring at you like he was about to have you as his next meal.
This would have prompted your classmates to warn you, if you werenât such a menace and a half yourself.
From what Mori learned from his stalking, you were about as bad as he was when it came to physical hostility only that yours came in the form of verbal and emotional assaults. You were known for turning even the most popular person in campus into an outcast with just a click of a button. It became your job to basically be on the know-how of everyone. You probably knew everything there is about Mori himself.
He found out after seeing an underclassman confess to you. Poor kid had his heart shattered when you told him that you shared his declined terrific confessions about wanting to be railed by you, to not only the entire school, but the internet as well.
What was even worse was that kid still liked you after all that. Apparently you two were acquaintances and he had unknowingly saved the junior from getting his ass beat by kicking the bulliesâ. And that led to you and Mori meeting.
Tch. Why did he have to owe that lanky piece of shit the honor of encountering you?
After going through the 5 stages of grief that is falling in love with you. Mori decided to just fuck it and accept the fact that he ainât getting you out of his heart and/or mind anytime soon.
Might as well indulge his feelings.
By that he means following you everywhere.
And he means everywhere.
His lackeys are so confused. Why was Boss stalking you? You had a horrid reputation like him, but you only attacked when provoked. But the way Boss was staring you down said otherwise. His horny was mistaken as anger.
This would have prompted them to âdealâ with you. If you didnât threaten their social lives.
So for the next month it had been a standstill. Until one fateful day. When you dragged him to a dark, abandoned shed behind the school.
And started taking off your pants/skirt, and your undergarments. Your genitalia out for show.
âWh-WhaâWaitâ Iâmââ He stuttered. Heâd seen you strip many times before. Even masturbating inside your closet and on your bed. But seeing you do it right in front of him with nothing between you two was still . . . new but nice . . . and a tad bit overwhelming.
âItâs my underwear.â You dangle the piece of cloth on front of his face. Using your free hand to put your pants/skirt back on.
âI can see that, why are you giving me your dirty assââ
âI was thinking it may have been the kid. Taking all my laundry and all that. But then you started following me everywhere.â
âY-You knew?!â
âI was guessing. But now I know.â You shrugged casually, as if you hadnât just dropped the biggest bombshell in the world. As if you hadnât just exposed his depraved actions towards youz
âWhich brings me to my next point, I want you to go out with me.â
âWhat?!â
âIs that a yes or a no?â
âYES! I mean, yes â But . . . why ?â
âWell itâs an equal exchange. Iâd have a boyfriend to stop all those pesky confessions and attempts at my life, which you have been doing for me in the background. Thank you, by the wayââ
âYouâre- Youâre welcome? You could have said somethingââ
âLet me talk properly before I change my mind.â Tired of holding your underwear, you decided to throw it on his face before continuing, âAnd you, get to take all the underwear youâd like. Get to take me on all the dates youâd like. Maybe even fuck me in whatever place or position youâd like.â
This was too good to be true. Mori was leaking from the words coming out your mouth, but he had to make sure he wasnât getting himself into a situation he didnât want.
âWhatâs the catch?â
âItâs simple. Know your place. I take the reins of this relationship. Not you. I make the decisions and adjustments to this exchange. Not you. Weâll break up when I say so. So thereâs no backing out on your terms Iâm afraid.â
The arrangements seemed unfair. Too perfect. It wasnât as if heâll break up with you at any moment, heâll just have to focus on keeping your eyes on him. There was nothing to be afraid of. Doubt still permeated, but even then . . .
âDeal.â He answered immediately. The benefits were too good to care about essentially being a guard dog. He might as well indulge as he has been.
This time without the time spent hesitating on his decision.
âLetâs make good on that deal right now, shall we?â

a/n: my astarion brain rot has produced a thing. i've finally obsessed over this stupid scene to the point where i regurgitated this. have fun becos i certainly didn't
warning: allusions to spoilers, allusions to a lot of astarion's scenes, spoilers okay there's spoilers, mentions of mistreatment by others, no names or pronouns but this is my blind tiefling ranger oc, still in second person reader insert point of view though LOL
You sat almost stock still, your eyes looking like they were staring thoughtfully into the bonfire but, in reality, you saw only darkness. Your tiefling ears, though, heard everything. They twitched as you took stock of where everyone was.
Your bear familiar laid beside you, his fur brushing against your side, his head pressed to the outside of your thigh. You could hear the ever present grinding of Lae'zel as she sharpened her weapons for the dozenth time. You couldn't hear Shadowheart but she meditated so often that it was common not to know.
Wyll was somewhere near his tent, rifling through his things, preparing for the journey ahead. Gale was looking at himself using magic.
Of course, all of that didn't seem to matter because Astarion, as always, sat silently beside you, his calloused fingers making pleasant sounds against the parchment of the book he was leafing through.
"Astarion," you called out, your own hand still laid atop your bear's sleeping head "Can I ask you for a favor?"
Astarion stopped flicking through the book in his lap to hum, his red eyes darting to you in suspicion. "And what would your favor be, darling?"
You wouldn't have been able to tell, of course, seeing as you couldn't see, but he looked at you with a doubt that could only come from people who've been burned by others too much.
When he had hummed, you turned your head to face him, the jewels hanging from your horns twinkling. Your eyes were unseeing but Astarion always felt slightly unnerved by how it felt like they were staring straight into him.
Your hands lifted into the air, poised as if you were cupping some invisible thing in between them "Can I touch your face?"
Astarion was definitely taken aback. He even flinched a little, eyebrows scrunching, mind reeling.
You were asking to touch his face?
When you didn't hear a response, you smiled almost sadly, a pitying chuckle leaving your lips "Sorry, i-it's fine if it makes you uncomfortable. You don't have to. I know some people react badly when I ask."
"It's just. I'm able to find my way around through the noise and my other senses but I've never been able to put physical features to all of your names and voices." You explained, fingers curling a little, hesitating, hovering as if you weren't sure you could convince him "But out of everyone, I've especially wanted to know the face behind your melodic voice."
That didn't end up clarifying anything for Astarion.
First of all, though he'd been through his share of flattery and praise, he'd never heard his voice described as melodic before.
Second, he'd never told anyone but even he didn't know what he looked like. Astarion had a mirror he'd carry with him, something to peer into with desperation, but he always saw the same thing he'd always see: nothing.
That was, maybe, where his hesitation came from. He didn't know how monstrous he looked as a vampire.
Not hideous, of course. He knew he was handsome because he'd been able to lure many a woman and even a few men to their demises. No, he feared he looked monstrous the same way Cazzador looked monstrous; more than beautiful enough but always the cruelty bled through and revealed itself.
Still, Astarion couldn't find it in himself to deny you. You, who so graciously defended him against all the others in your little group. You, who bled for him every night and still looked at him like he had some humanity left in him. You, who intrigued him at every step.
"Perhaps you can tell me what I look like then." He decided to joke in that same pompous tone he used when he felt a bit too vulnerable "I haven't been able to see myself in hundreds of years."
You frowned at that but your expression immediately turned to one of curiosity "Really?"
"Astarion nodded before moving to place his face into your hands.
Your hands were almost unbearably warm against his almost chilling skin, your claws, as long as his, brushing against the apples of his cheeks.
As soon as you realised his face was in your hands, your face scrunched into an expression of concentration.
First, you brushed your thumbs over his skin, under his eyes, to his cheeks, up to his temples. You looked contemplating, like you really were forming a picture in your mind.
"Well, you have very nice laugh lines." You smiled, gently, sweetly, in a way that made Astarion's undead heart almost beat.
"Preposterous. I'm a vampire, not your homely grandmother. I do not age." He answered you, rolling his eyes, and you could feel the way his expression contorted into an exasperated one underneath your very hands.
You just laughed "I like it. You know, you sound very handsome when you laugh."
Another exasperated noise but you ignored it in favour of brushing your thumbs over his eyebrows "I can tell you furrow your eyebrows often."
"You can tell something like that?" Astarion sounded disbelieving.
You nodded "I lived in Baldur's Gate but we didn't have a home really. We moved from place to place. But I had my own little ragtag family and they would let me practice on their faces; they'd let me touch as they laughed and smiled and grew angry or sad."
Astarion almost wanted to ask you to continue but, from your expression, he felt as if it wasn't the time or place.
"My mother always fretted over everyone; she'd have wrinkles right here because she furrowed her eyebrows so much." You pressed in between Astarion's eyebrows, thumb running over it as if trying to flatten away his worries, before moving back to the corners of his eyes "And whenever my friend smiled, her eyes would upturn right here."
"I bet you look gorgeous smiling, Astarion."
Then, you moved on, moving back down his face, down to his lips. You traced the corners of his mouth, feeling for something that Astarion couldn't understand.
All of it was beyond Astarion's comprehension. He wasn't a stranger to compliments but it felt like yours reached somewhere deep inside him and brought it peace.
Something about it all both tranquilized him and unnerved him all the same.
"You must smirk a lot. I bet you look boyishly handsome when you do. Your voice always sounded so mischievous to me." You huffed, sounding jokingly tired of his antics before running your left thumb over his lips, feeling both the softness and the roughness of it under your fingertip "And you bite your lips a lot. I can feel the scars of it. Though I doubt it would be noticeable to anyone else. Your lips are soft either way. It's a very pretty shape."
Astarion recalled all the countless nights of him biting away cries of pain, cries of agony, the way he'd always bite his lip in frustration and anger. Nobody had ever noticed that, not until you, and it felt like sharing a secret.
Then, as suddenly as your request had come, you pulled away, that gentle touch that soothed a part of Astarion gone as soon as it had been offered.
"Sorry." You looked sheepish, embarrassed "I know a lot of people don't like others touching their face, especially a Tiefling."
Before you could truly pull away though, Astarion pulled your hands back to his face, sandwiching them in between his cold calloused palms and the soft chill of his cheeks.
"It's fine, darling, I don't care." He tried to build his walls back up and, at the same time, let you in "I, for one, always welcome compliments, no matter what the type."
Your thumbs hesitantly, slowly, reached his eyes. You felt his eyelashes flutter close before you were feeling his eyelids, velveteen and twitching. Your thumbs mapped over it, over the shape and the dips of his eyes.
"What color are your eyes?" Your thumbs moved on, again feeling the corners of his eyes, brushing over them in circles as if comforting Astarion somewhat.
"Red, like any vampire's." Astarion answered easily enough, swallowing down a memory of Cazzador's striking red eyes.
"I can tell they're very kind; sharp around the corners but round everywhere else. I bet your stare is very enchanting." You laughed a little in that breathy tinkling way you always did.
Astarion frowned a little, still disbelieving, unable to accept words like 'kind' to describe him.
Then, finally, your hands moved away from his face entirely, your fingers suddenly combing through his hair, feeling it in between your fingers and with your very fingertips "Oh, you have such curly hair!"
"It used to be something else, I think." He tried to recall but quickly grew frustrated when the information didn't come easily "But now it's white."
"Oh, Astarion." You sighed, hands finally coming out of his hair to cup his cheeks "You're so handsome. I'm so glad to finally know what you look like."
Astarion nodded, trying to brush your painfully sincere words off but, instead, they struck him, buried deep inside him.
If you felt a slight bit of wetness in the corners of his eyes, you didn't mention it.

Thereâs a part of me that recognises you.

Song: Chihiro by Billie Eilish
Warning: yandere behaviour( I dont condone yandere behaviour in real life, this is just fiction), chubby reader (uses she/her pronouns), cursing, lucid dreaming, spirituality
â.ŕłŕż*:シâ.ŕłŕż*:シâ.ŕłŕż*:シâ.ŕłŕż*:シâ.ŕłŕż*:シâ.ŕłŕż*:シâ.ŕłŕż*:シ
Standing knee-deep in the ice cold water while the salty breeze of the sea hit your face, you stroked over the goosebumps that rose over your plump arms. The radiant full moon illuminated your face and your eyes took in the view of the beautiful beach in front of you. The beach that youâve been seeing every single night in every dream you had. The beach where you met him for the first time.
You donât remember when the dreams first started, nor whether the guy you met in your dreams was just a person you once saw passing through a crowd, or just a result of your brain coming up with the image of the most beautiful guy alive.
You are completely aware of the fact that youâre dreaming. Whenever you saw him, you knew that you were dreaming. Your very own personal man of your dreams. Whenever you woke up, a heavy sense of sadness and dread filled you. Not only because the most perfect man disappeared from your grasp yet again, but also because you werenât sure what was happening. Was it just a weird reoccurring lucid dream? Was it a memory? Or something entirely different?
Completely lost in thoughts, you stared at the gentle waves when familiar arms wrapped around your plush torso from behind. The comforting scent of oranges, sandalwood and jasmine infiltrated your nose and your worries eased a little. You smiled while keeping your gaze on the reflection of the moon on the water surface.
âI missed you during the dayâ, you whispered and he chuckled and squeezed you firmly.
âDarling, I canât even begin to describe how much I missed you. I wish I could just sleep forever so we can see each other all the time.â, he sighed and buried his nose in your hair. He inhaled deeply and let out a small groan.
You turned around and looked at him. He leaned forward and gently kissed your nose. You wrapped your arms around him and buried yourself in his chest. His smell engulfed you and his hands gently squeezed whatever they could reach.
Heâs not real, heâs not real.
After a long minute you spoke up, âCan we sit down?â, you asked him and pointed to your usual sitting spot.
He nodded with a gentle smile and both of you sat next to each other in the sand, and he started to pick up pretty shells for you.
âHow was your day?â, he asked you and you sighed and leaned back. His eyes immediately found yours and he furrowed his brows in concern.
Heâs not real.
âIt was the same as alwaysâ, you replied numbly and looked up at the stars.
He put his large hand in the middle of your stomach and tenderly rubbed your lower belly fat.
âI hate that youâre so stressed about your life. Every night you look more exhausted and unhappy and seeing you like that feels like Iâm getting stabbed in my chest. I wish I could take you away from everything, Darling. ", he told you and for the first time tonight he wasnât smiling.
Your heart fluttered but immediately afterwards a wave of embarrassment and sadness washed over you. Youâre taking like this with an imaginary man. A man from your dreams. He wasnât real. None of this was. You canât keep going like this.
You stood up walked back into the water and looked straight ahead, his arms gently squeezing around you again.
âWhat are you thinking about? â, he asked you, his chin now gently resting on your shoulder. His slender, veiny hands engulfed your beautifully plumped one.
You turned around to face him again and admired his features; from his shoulder-long blonde hair that shone golden in the light, to his beautiful honey coloured eyes, which brought out the slight freckles speckled across his nose and eyelids and plump lips. His long and lanky body adorned in a white button up and black pants.
His tender eyes scanned you from top to bottom too, his eyes halting on your round hips and pudgy stomach, which were particularly emphasised in this white night gown you were wearing. His gaze softened even more and his hand tenderly stroked up your arm til his hand reached your cheek and he cupped your face in his warm, big hands.
âMy precious darling. Whatâs going through your pretty head, hm?â he hummed and gently rubbed his aquiline nose against your hairline. âYou can talk with me about anything. You know that.â His hands wandered up and down your back and he pressed his forehead against yours.
âYouâre not real.â, you replied quietly and looked down.
Focusing on his button- up shirt was easier than looking into his piercing, loving eyes, but before you had the opportunity to avoid his eyes for too long , you noticed his necklace; it was a crystal. A purple one at that. Was it an amethyst? Before you could spend too much time thinking about his necklace, his hands cupped your round cheeks and made you look up at him again. This time his eyebrows were furrowed and his plump lips pressed to a line.
âWhat did you just say?â, he asked you solemnly.
A pit formed in your stomach. You gulped and responded, âWeâre dreaming. No, Iâm dreaming. Youâre not real. Youâre just a man in my dreams that I made up. Our relationship isnât real and I think we need to stop meeting here.â
You felt pretty stupid for âbreaking upâ with someone from your dreams but it was the right thing to do.
The idyllic landscape suddenly turned into a nightmare; heavy lightning bolts struck the ocean and thunder rumbled all around you. Your eyes widened and you felt your pulse pick up.
Your eyes found his again and your jaw dropped open when you saw the tears running down his freckled cheek. You wanted to apologise to him, to comfort him, but before you could even get one word out, he fell on his knees in front of you.
âI donât know what happened. Just yesterday we were talking about everything until you woke up and now youâre saying that what we have is not real? That our feelings arenât real? What the fuck happened to make you change your mind?â, he asked loudly with tears streaming down his face. He took your hand and and kissed the palm of your hand and each individual finger softly while tears were dripping on your own hand.
Why would you dream this? Why would it feel so real? He looked at you from below his lashes, expecting an answer and kept your hand close to his mouth.
You felt the world crumble and blur around you. The light of the moon dimmed slowly while the ocean was drying up. This happens every night. This process was as familiar to you as was seeing him and this beach. It could only mean one thing; you were waking up.
He frantically looked around and held you by your shoulders. It was a firm but gentle grip nevertheless. âPlease, baby. Please donât leave me like this, okay? Come back tomorrow, hm? Weâll talk it all overâ, he begged.
Before you could answer, you woke up in your room. Blinking sleepily, your eyes scanned the room and you sighed and brushed your hair back. What the fuck was that about? Shit, you felt even more exhausted than before you went to bed. You were about to get up when you noticed something. The hand that he had kissed desperately, was slightly wet. It looked like the cause for it were small and irregular droplets of water; like his tears.
Goosebumps rose all over your body and your cheeks began to heat up while a cold shower ran down the nape of your neck. The heavy sense of dread expanded in your belly. No, you were probably just going crazy. Nothing extraordinary happening here. Nothing at all. Your eyes slowly drifted back to your hand and you picked your hand up and gently held it under your nose. His familiar scent invaded your nose again and you jumped up from your bed.
Suddenly you remembered his necklaces; the amethyst. Scrambling to your phone you looked up which crystals can help with lucid dreaming and⌠Amethyst was amongst the top five crystals.
Easy explanation, you were going crazy. You have nothing else going for you in your life so you convinced yourself that the man from your dreams is real. Easy situation.
You needed fresh air; walking outside in the autumnal weather while the dried leaves were crunching beneath you always helped clearing your mind. The refreshing breeze whirled around you and your tense body calmed a bit, when you accidentally walked against somebody. The person dropped their belongings and you apologised and picked up their things. Before you looked them in their face your eyes halted at their necklace; it was the same amethyst from your dream. You took a few steps back and your eyes immediately jumped up to the persons face and it was him. The man from your dreams.
âHello, baby. We finally see each other during the day too. My name is Ellisâ, he said gently with a lazy, soft smile and extremely deep bags beneath his eyes.

I am actually so in love with all ur yandere ocs!!! putting their designs in the back of my mind for future reference :] who knows, maybe I'll draw them someday tehee :333 I am especially a sucker for yandere angels so ur doing gods work here fr (no pun intended) Anyways I am kinda curious as to how the guys would feel abt a non-binary MC considering so far you've only described them using "she/her" pronouns ^^'' no need to answer if ur not up to it. I won't think of u or the characters any less<3 I'm also curious how they would react to mc having a very close childhood friend. I mean.. Those type of friendships are very likely to lead to more after all uwu~
Tysm for liking my yandere OCs!! I'm very very pleased to hear that you enjoy them <3 I'd be flattered if you drew them!
Yandere angels are so fun b/c they're supposed to be the pinnacle of purity, but what if they get corrupted by their desires? Then they have to grapple with their morals and desires, though their desires eventually win over because they love love love you so much!
Also, I am totally okay with a gender-neutral reader! I try to write mostly gn!reader, actually, but my readers may read more feminine occasionally due my background.
As for the guys, they'd all be okay with a non-binary MC~ though, I think Jiu's story would probably work best with a female leaning MC since his whole thing is that he dresses up as a woman to chase guys away from MC. Otherwise, I can visualize any gender for any of my yanderes!
Now, what if MC had a childhood friend? Well, here's how my yanderes would react:
Jiu IS your childhood friend, so he's already chased anyone else away from being too close with you since you were both kids. He's super smart in that he lets you interact with people (and even have "friends"), but he manipulates the situation so that you're mostly spending time with him. When someone gets too close to you, though, he'll chase them away, either through anonymous blackmail, some "accident," or something else.
Finley would be so so so sad if you had a childhood friend that was super close to you. He's not really allowed to harm any human but... it's not his fault that your friend is so so so clumsy and fell into a manhole!
Tynan would just kill the guy, honestly. Nothing's stopping him from killing your childhood friend, after all. BUT, he's not stupid enough to make it obvious he did it. After all, how else will he console you over your stupid childhood friend's death?
The abandoned water god just kidnaps you so he could care less, frankly speaking. It's not like you can leave him, so why should he worry about some powerless human? Though, talk about your childhood friend too much and your friend may meet an untimely death related to water.
As for the farmer... oh, he'd hate your childhood friend. You're his sugarcube, you know? You're just so cute and defenseless, he has to protect you! So, well, whenever you try to call your childhood friend, the signals all wonky. When you want to drive to visit your friend, your tires are all punctured. And when your friend wants to visit? Oh! Well, your friend can't visit because the area's suddenly super dangerous and there's like fifty bears that might maul your friend!
So, long story short, your childhood friend isn't safe and probably never will be (except Jiu, who is your childhood friend)!

A/N- hey all! This is my submission for @ohtobeleah âs Galentineâs party!! Iâm so excited to see everyoneâs posts and concepts, make sure you check out the submissions under her tag!
Summary- A collection of memories and mood boards documenting you and Jake from engagement to wedding day.
Pairing- Jake Seresin x oc!reader (callsign Storm)
Warnings- language, drinking, smut.
âWe can leave the Christmas lights up til January, this our place we make the rulesâ
It was January 5th now, you knew the chances of Jake being home for Christmas were slim but secretly youâd hoped he would be. Heâd begged you not to spend the holiday alone his mother insisting you come to Texas so youâd flown out and spent two fantastic weeks with his family. They had welcomed you with open arms, taking you to all of Jakeâs old haunts and involving you in their family traditions. Youâd never been close to your parents so the overwhelming love you received from the Seresin family was something youâd never experienced before. Youâd gotten to talk to him sporadically over the holiday but you could tell he was heartbroken he couldnât be there with you. The time went by too fast and before you knew it the 5th had arrived and you were stepping off your plane in San Diego, Coyote was waiting to pick you up and you couldnât wait to get home to your own bed. Youâd put up a small tree with some lights before you left just to keep the seasonal depression at bay, but as you unlocked the door to your shared home you were met with what could only be described as a winter wonderland. The house was covered in lights, decorated ornately with paper snowflakes and there in front of a brand new 8 foot Christmas tree was Jake. He grinned his thousand watt smile at you as you dropped all of your bags and launched yourself into his arms.
âHey Stormy girl, did ya miss me?â
You let out a watery laugh as you began to sob in earnest, he held you close and pressed kisses into your hair, reassuring you that he was home and this was real. When you finally settled he sat you both down on the couch in front of the massive tree, you were still in shock that not only was he here but he had somehow managed to transform your house into Santaâs workshop.
âWhat is all this baby?â You whispered against his lips, heâd never been big on Christmas but he knew you loved it so the thoughtfulness and effort put in after a nearly 3 month deployment was not lost on you.
âWe didnât get Christmas together darlinâ and I know being apart has been hard as hell these past few monthsâ he stands up now, walking over to the tree to pick up a small gift you hadnât even noticed. You gasp as tears well up in your eyes, Jake Seresin is down on one knee surrounded by a literal Christmas wonderland, and heâs about to ask you for forever. âYes!â You blurt out, causing a belly laugh to erupt from him.
âYou didnât even let me ask sweetheartâ
âYou can but my answer is still yes, I just want to be yours, forever and ever.â
He closes the distance between you to slide his grandmaâs engagement ring on your finger, kissing you in the glow of the twinkle lights.
âMy heartâs been borrowed and yours has been blue, all's well that ends well to end up with youâ
A joint bachelor/bachelorette party at the hard deck, all the boys had suggested strip clubs and hookers but Jake just wanted a night with everyone they loved and to maybe get you a little tipsy so he could proposition you for a hookup in the bathroom. You were dancing with Phoenix and a few of your other girlfriends, dressed in the tiniest white dress with a bedazzled cowboy hat and veil that said bride on the front. He didnât think he could love you more than this moment; eyes full of joy and singing âDonât stop believingâ at the top of your lungs. Heâd even let you convince him to wear the ridiculous groom t shirt youâd gotten him, taking all the jesting in stride even though he secretly loved it. Heâd always give you whatever you want.
You were a spitfire when you wanted to be, always first to defend him if some cocky asshole got mouthy, he had been an absolute dick to everyone around him for years but since that first dagger squad mission heâd been trying his damndest to make amends.
That was one of the many ways heâd known you were the one, youâd been dating quietl after you and Roosterâs failed engagement had crashed and burned over a year before. During a particularly stressful training day the two had come to blows, both of them ending up in the infirmary as Rooster continued to pelt insults his way. Jake was trying to take it in stride but your temper could only take so much. You were professional but vicious in your descent on him, refusing to let Bradley Bradshaw and his unresolved emotional baggage dismantle all the work Jake had put in to better himself. Youâd been a champion for him no matter what and he wasnât used to anyone having his back, it took his breath away just how much you believed in him.
Watching you now he felt his heart swell, and he couldnât sit in his chair any longer; the need to hold you carrying him across the room, spinning you into his arms with ease.
âHi sugar, think I could steal you away for a few minutes?â He whispered in your ear, pressing soft kisses to your neck as he dipped you to cheers from the crowd. You threw your head back giggling and took his hand to drag him through the throngs of patrons to the quiet hall that held the bathrooms.
You knew what he wanted, he was always looking for an opportunity to get you wrapped around him, often joking he might have a bit of a kink for getting you off in public spaces but really he was just insatiable when it came to you, especially when you were dressed in what he thought may be the world's smallest dress and rubbing your body all over his.
Placing you on the side of the sink he ran his hands over you now, sliding a hand between your parted legs finding you obscenely wet and he chuckled; maybe he wasnât the only one that got hot and bothered over hooking up where anyone could find you.
You gasped at his touch and pushed your hands into his hair, needing him to kiss you and he was all too willing, tasting your tongue as you moaned into his mouth, the prettiest sound he ever heard. He pulled your tiny scrap of underwear to the side and pressed his fingers into your dripping core, watching you grind down onto his hand, whispering filthy things he knew youâd be mortified if anyone heard and God he lived for it, you were his dirty girl behind closed doors all for him, only he got to see you like this. You were teetering on the edge now, suddenly removing his fingers from you with a smirk as you protested, tears pricking at the corner of your eyes and chest heaving while you begged for him to stop teasing and fuck you. He didnât have to be told twice, letting you wrench his belt buckle open and unzip his jeans in record time, sliding home into your velvet heat, I love yous breathed out into the humid air of the bar bathroom. He chased your mutual highs quickly, knowing eventually someone would come looking for you, desperate cries pouring from your pouty pink lips and coming hard as you pulsed and fluttered around him, both of you bathed in ecstasy in the dim dingy light. As the two of you attempted to become presentable you were startled by the creaking of the bathroom door, Javy poking his head through and shaking his head with a raucous laugh.
âWeâve been taking turns guarding the bathroom, would you two heathens wrap it up? Weâve got celebrating to do!â
You both couldnât hold in your laughter, they knew you too well, bracing yourselves for the onslaught of teasing for skipping out on your own party to hook up.
Drinks were distributed, a new game of pool was started and as you gazed at Jake across the room you couldnât help but be proud of who he had become. He was honorable, steadfast and in fact too good to be true. You had both been damaged and jaded from past mistakes and relationships but had somehow healed each other becoming the best version of yourselves. Youâd do it all again if it meant you ended up here, with your magnetic force of a man. Loving him was like coming up for air, he was Christmas morning and birthday wishes on lit candles and technicolor fireworks on the Fourth of July. You couldnât wait to spend forever loving him.
âYouâre my, my, my, my Lover.â
As you sat in the dressing room of the venue overlooking the harbor you were brought back to the night of Penny and Maverickâs wedding just a few years ago. You had come back to San Diego for their nuptials still heartbroken from your failed engagement with Bradley. Over the course of the long weekend you had found love again in the form of your best friend, the man you were finally about to marry.
Sometimes it still felt like a dream, you were afraid you would wake up one morning and still be single and heartbroken in your tiny apartment in Pensacola, but fate had stepped in and brought the two of you together. It hadnât been easy, you were in tears more often than youâd like to admit when you first started dating long distance, and then deployments apart caused even more strain.
When you were finally promoted to Lieutenant Commander 10 months into your budding romance your superior told you there was an opportunity to fly again at top gun but this time with a new crew. So you and your front seater Viper decided to take the leap and head to Fightertown. Jake couldnât believe it when he had a knock on his door that Sunday night to find you with all your luggage on his front porch, bottle of champagne in hand asking how he felt about a roommate.
It had been two years since then, both the dagger squad and red knights could be seen mingling outside and you felt your heart swell at how lucky you were to be surrounded by so many amazing friends.
Jake was all nerves on the opposite side of the venue, couldnât seem to keep his hands from shaking as he tried to put his cufflinks on. Javy swatted his hand away and took over, shaking his head and handing Jake his whiskey to finish up.
âWhat are you so worried about? Stormyâs in dude, you two were made for each other.â
Jake knew he was being ridiculous, his family loved Stormy, all of his friends did too, he just wanted everything to be perfect for her.
âIâm not worried about her leaving me numb nuts, I just want it to be everything she hopes it is, Iâve checked the weather 100 times today and if it rains I swear-â
âJake, sheâs not just excited about the fairy tale wedding; sheâs excited to marry you. The rest of it will turn out perfectly because you two will be together, the rest is gravy bud.â
Jake wondered to himself when Javy had gotten so smart, but he had to admit his wingman was right about one thing, being with you forever was the thing that mattered most and Jake couldnât wait to start it with you.
As you walked down the aisle you could barely hold it together, Jake was already tearing up when you reached him taking his hand in yours it took all the restraint you had to not go ahead and kiss him. It was everything you had ever dreamed of and even if it had just been the two of you and a justice of the peace that wouldâve been enough, because the end result was forever with the love of your life. Jakeâs brother-in-law, a preacher back in Texas had been asked to be the officiant and when he finally announced you man and wife you couldnât get to your love fast enough, pressing your lips to his as he made a show of dipping you for the crowd.
Later that evening in the glow of the harbor lights you were swaying to the music with your husband and you couldnât put into words how perfect this night had been. He pulled your face close to his as he sang along with the band, and you had to kiss him again, it felt like every cell in your body cried out to be loved and touched by Jake Seresin and you knew without a doubt he always would. No matter where the two of you went he would do everything to love and protect you, and you would always do the same. Forever.

An Ever-Fixed Mark
|| Otto Hightower x Fem!Reader/OC || Rating: T (for now) Chapter: 1 of 5 Words: 2.8k
Married to Aemond Targaryen, life at court has not been what Lady Brakenwyn ever imagined. It is monotonous and lifeless inside the Red Keep with a husband who does care for her and who would rather spend coin in the slums of Kings Landing than with his own wife. She can't help but let her mind wander and yearn for the affections of a man who pays her the slightest attention - a man that she cannot have: the Hand of the King. Tags: pining, forbidden romance, infidelity, author is prone to purple prose (tags will be updated as story progresses) Ao3 Link
A/N: This story is in first person so can be read as a reader insert or as an OC, she is not described nor does she have a first name. No Y/N. Reader is married to Aemond but he is barely in the story. I have not read any books so I am operating on vibes mostly. I just want to write about that old man.
How embarrassing it was to be wed to a child. At least, that was what I felt my life had become. While Aemond Targaryen was a man grown, he still clung to the temperament of boyhood and delighted too much in the station he had been born with. The banquet hall was loud and raucous with the sound of happy chatter and laughter. Though I felt no joy as I sat at the large table on my own, watching my husband whisper to some other lady in a dark corner. I knew our marriage was nothing more than a political alliance and also some sort of punishment for the prince. Or perhaps not a punishment, but a desperate hope that he would act more as a prince should if he were wed. So quickly had I seen the foolishness in such a notion that I was surprised anyone had thought our union was a good idea.
I sighed and stared into my wine cup. I wished to be anywhere but here in the Red Keep, and certainly not at this name day celebration for a man I had tried to love and only grown to resent. As soon as I had arrived in Kingâs Landing I felt as if I didnât belong. Where I was older than the prince, I felt out of place in court amongst those my own age. The other ladies were polite but we had not grown together so to them I was nothing but an outsider. The queen was kind to me, in a sort of distant fashion. I felt her disappointment in me, as if I could fix Aemond and unite mother and son once more - more foolishness. I snuck a glance at her and could see the annoyance that caused her lovely face to frown as she watched her second son.
âMy lady, would you dance with me?â
The words startled me from my musings and I glanced across the table to see Ser Henry, at least I was sure that was his name. I knew him to be one of Prince Aegonâs Kingsguard, though I frequently saw him speaking with Aemond. He seemed to be the only one who even acknowledged my existence. I was certain that my husband had sent him over to me, to entertain meâŚto keep me happy. Aemond treated me as if I were one of the familyâs dragons, not that I was capable of much strength nor fire breathing or flight. But I was capable of making more little baby dragons and that was all my worth had become, not that he put any effort into such an endeavor.
I forced a smile on my face and nodded at the knight, before making my way towards him. I took his proffered hand and let him lead me into the crush of people dancing amongst the glowing candelabras. I barely paid attention to anything but the music, the glorious sound of lutes and harps mingling together to create such beautiful sounds as I let him lead me across the floor. This I knew would be the closest I ever came to flying, no matter how hard I prayed to the gods to give me wings so I could leave this place.
âHe says you should try and look happy,â whispered Ser Henry, his lips barely moving.
My face twitched but I mostly kept it blank as I stared at a point over his armoured shoulder.
âMaybe he should try and make me happy,â I said.
âLady Brakenwyn.â
It was just my name, my old name, but it was a warning. The âLady from the Riverlandsâ was all I was to those in Kingâs Landing, even though I had not set foot there since I had been a child. As a ward of House Hightower, I had spent most of my life in Oldtown and had assumed Iâd be promised to someone in the Reach. How I wish my mother hadnât been such a scheming woman and my father so happy let her do as she pleased.
âHe will send you back to the Riverlands.â
In a box, was clearly left unsaid. Foolishness on my part, that had been, to think my mother would be content with a match from a noble house in the Reach. No, my housesâ army and fealty was worth a Prince.
I held my tongue, not wishing to argue when I knew it would be in vain. It was pointless the threats, I knew they needed my parents fealty and would not displease House Brakenwyn by sending back their only child in a wooden casket. How stupid I had been a year ago to think coming to Kingâs Landing would be like in the stories, that I would be happy to be wed to a prince and to live in such a castle with the rulers of Westeros. How I missed how hopeful and joyous I had been before coming here.
But I would not let my melancholy ruin one of my only pleasures as Ser Henry continued to sweep me across the stone floor, his steps were a little erratic and his grip unsure but it improved my mood drastically. The music changed, the melody becoming more upbeat and while I could not recall the name of it, I knew it well. It was accompanied by a simple dance that involved changing partners and swinging steps, it was the sort of dance better suited for warm nights outside, not trapped in a stone room. But that didnât deter me, I was happy as I switched Ser Henry to dance with a stout but cheerful nobleman, red in the face from drink who laughed heartily as he spun me around. I couldn't help but laugh in response to his merriment, even as he repeatedly stood on my feet. My spirits grew when I heard the sound of Princess Helaenaâs laughter drift towards me. My head turned to see her as she danced with her grandfather, who smiled at her in such a way that I wished so desperately to have bestowed upon my own person.
It would not do for me to stare, and I did try not to, but I couldnât help it as the dance drew us near. Helaena smiled dreamily at me, as was her way, before I was suddenly in the arms of the Hand of the King. Unlike the unsure grip of Ser Henry and the over eagerness of the drunken nobleman, Otto Hightower held me with an assuredness and reverence that made my heart swell. The Hand was one of the few people I spoke to at length, as I frequently saw him in the castle library. His gentle manner and keen mind had managed to captivate me, and though I knew it was fatuous to have such thoughts about a man, not only so much older than I, but the grandfather of my own husband, I could do nothing to stop the growing fondness I felt for him.
I smiled at him, unable to help how earnest it was despite my inner admonishments. Afterwards, I would pray that he only thought my exuberance due to the dancing and not him. I didnât wish to embarrass myself. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately in the case of idiotic fantasies, I was back with Ser Henry, watching as Ser Otto and Helaena were lost in the crowd.
âThatâs better, my lady,â said Ser Henry at the expression on my face. âYou look so much prettier when you smile. Perhaps you should dance more often.â
I merely nodded in response, it was pointless to speak any further.
When my feet throbbed, no thanks to the drunken nobleman, I returned to the high table and gave my thanks to Alicent, who had been busy attentively whispering in the Kingâs ear, before slinking out of the Great Hall and to my chambers. I had no desire to speak to Aemond, I had already given him my well wishes in the morning and that had been received as well as anything I ever said to him, which was mostly indifference.
It was much cooler in the empty corridors of the Keep and the silence a welcome respite from the manic noise of the celebrations. I walked distractedly until I pushed through the heavy door and into my room. My chambers were linked to Aemondâs, though it was a passage several feet in length with a heavy door at each end. His door was frequently locked. At first I had locked my own until I realised he had a key and would let himself in, usually to cast judgements upon me. I thought our shared interest in reading would have brought us close but all it did was earn his ire. He didnât trust me and I had learnt not to trust him. I did not know where Aegon spent most of his nights, or more aptly, whom he spent them with. But I did not care, as long as he left me alone.
The next day dawned slowly, the sun's rays gradually filtering through the high windows of the windows of the Red Keep as if she too were reluctant to rise from her bed. I usually awoke early, preferring to spend the morning in the godswood as it was often empty, though I allowed myself a longer rest after the nights dancing. The bird calls were gentle and the breeze soft when I reached the godswood. Sometimes out here I could pretend I was not trapped in a prison of stone as I sat on a bench and let the wind gently caress my face, the fresh air lifting my spirits. It was a tranquil place that felt disconnected from the Red Keep in a way that I relished. I had chosen a dress of periwinkle blue, I so rarely wore the colours of House Targaryen - a small rebellion on my part, and I admired the way the sunlight made the fabric glitter, reminding me of the Honeywine River during twilight.
I did not linger long as I knew Ser Otto would be in the library at this time, he did not spend every day there but I had learnt his routine without even thinking to do so. Every so often, I made sure to arrive either early or late, so that it would not seem as if I followed him like some unwanted shadow. Perhaps all we would say to each other would be a greeting, but it was enough to keep my melancholy at bay. There were few comfortable chairs but many tables, usually covered in scrolls and other texts. Ser Otto was fond of a small desk in one of the alcoves as it was near a high window, the light filtering through making it easier to read. One of the few chairs that were nearby was my favourite as it allowed me to curl within it like a cat so I could read and bask in the warmth of the sunshine. I hadnât even noticed him the first time we had shared that little alcove.
I took my usual spot, opening the book I had been reading and settled in. The Hand had not arrived yet and I was uncertain as to whether he would come today after last night. I knew a council meeting would be held soon and surely he would prefer to rest before attending. But my disappointment at these thoughts were short lived when I heard his measured footsteps, I knew the sound by heart. I pretended not to notice him until his low and soft gravelly words greeted me. That was all we said before he sat down to work. I did not ask what he did, I didnât think it was my business to enquire into the workings of the Hand of the King, but I was glad for it.
I shouldnât have observed him as closely as I did. My eyes shouldnât have lingered over the way his hand held the quill and how deftly it would sweep across the page as he took notes. Occasionally, while reading, he would lick the tip of his finger so he could turn a page. Iâd feel my breath stick in my throat then as if I could feel his mouth upon my own body. Aemond rarely lay with me, I think I could count upon one hand the few times we had been together as husband and wife. But when we had, he had been so bare, so smoothâthe only hair on him that which was on his head. If it wasnât for his eye, he would be a blank canvas. Ser Otto looked worn in the way that a favourite book did. There were stories there. How I yearned deep in the pit of my belly to trace the lines of his face and to feel his beard scratch against my inner thigh.
I took in a shuddering breath at that thought and looked away, feeling the heat suffuse my face. I knew he was looking at me then and I heard the creak of his chair as he came to stand before me.
âMy lady, are you well?â His low voice rumbled and I nodded my head in response. âAre you certain?â
I gathered my scattered wits and looked up at him. âYes, my lord hand.â
He smiled at me, a small but reassuring quirk of the lips. I treasured it, even though I knew it was nothing more than some sort of perfunctory affection on his part. I was the wife of one of his grandchildren and from a house aligned with the Hightowers. I knew this to be true yet I could not squash the terrible hope within me that he meant it.
I knew I needed to stop this ridiculous fascination. But I clung to it, even more so in the nights. When I lay alone and in the silence of the Keep, with nothing more than the sound of rain pouring against the glass panes, I would think of him and pretend he held me. That he would whisper such sweet things in my ear and offer comfort that I had not felt in yearsâŚcomfort I donât think Iâd ever truly felt.
Perhaps it was the unattainable nature of it all that enthralled me so. It was a safe dream to have, even though it gnawed at my guilty conscience. Why should I not have such thoughts? It wasnât as if I were the one spending most nights in the Street of Silk. Even if I had shared a room with my husband, I would have been alone.
The seventh day was tomorrow and I knew I would have to pray even harder for my fanciful mind. I looked down at the book in my lap and tried to go back to the passage I was reading but I barely took a word in.
âIt was good to see you enjoying the eveningâs festivities during Aemondâs name day celebrations.â
I looked up at Ser Otto again to find his attention was still fixed on me as he waited for my response.
âYou dance very well,â I said, wishing I had something more intelligent to say.
âFor an old man?â
I blanched and hastily tried to correct his assumptions. âNo! I didnât mean that, Lord Hand, I was simply expressing my commendation.â I shifted awkwardly in my chair. âI do not think you are old.â
The man smiled, an eyebrow raising in amusement. I realised suddenly he had been jesting with me.
âItâs been a long time,â he said with a sigh, âbut if your only comparison is Ser Henry and Lord Lyrmount, then I would seem full of grace.â He smiled again at me, it was small but conspiratorial in the way it lingered about his mouth. âI hope your feet have recovered well enough.â
âYes, thank you,â I replied even as my feet throbbed in remembrance of Lord Lyrmount's clumsy steps.
He said no more and I knew our conversation ended for the day, but how I treasured it and the small but pleasurable smiles he had given me. He packed his things then, I noted how neatly he always did so, and I was constantly drawn to the precise movements of his hands and tried to ignore the thoughts of said hands touching my skin with the same careful reverence that he gave those old books.
As he left, I felt I had achieved something momentous with him being able to jest with me, as if I were waging some little war for his affection - despite how foolhardy the battle was. I tried to tell myself he merely tolerated me because of my marriage but I couldnât help but think he did like me, in a way. He could have sat anywhere else in the library or avoided me completely - I knew there was ample space in the Tower of the Hand and he had no need to be here.
I smiled to myself at this small victory and happily returned to my book as the footsteps of the Hand faded into the distance.
A/N: I wrote a lot of this with COVID brain fog so I apologise if anything makes no sense.

Bastards, betrayal
Sihtric Kjartansson x fem oc warnings: angst, don't really know how else to describe it lol word count: 2242
Freydis Eyvindottir could curse everyone alive on the planet with the way she was glaring at Uhtred and his men. She had been captured together with Dagfinn and some of the others and was itching to get as far away from this place as possible. She had not touched the food in fear of it being poisoned although the other Danes had eaten of it and not dropped dead, still the fear of poison made her throat close up so she couldnât even swallow the food even if she wanted to.
She toyed with the food on her plate as she felt Finanâs stare on her back, she knew why, of course she knew why, she was the only woman in the whole company Haesten had, or at least the only shieldmaiden. Women fighting was uncommon for the Saxons which is probably why he was staring at her, she concluded before throwing a very nasty glare his way and if looks could kill, Finan wouldâve been six feet under.
âFreydis, keep your nasty looks to yourself, you donât know what theyâll do to us.â Dagfinn hisses at her and she throws an equally nasty glare to him which makes him shut up quickly. Freydis pushes her plate away from her because sheâs not going to eat it and she just wants to rest her arms on the table in peace without being hindered by a plate.
âI donât give a shit about what theyâll do to us, Dagfinn, theyâre allowed to know how much I dislike them.â She sneers back at him before briskly dropping her head on her arms and grumbling some curses under her breath.
Freydis lifts her head again when she hears Sihtric raise his voice, sheâs interested in what he has to say.
âOf marching North and then South, of being called a traitor.â Sihtric says, rather loudly and Freydis tilts her head to the side in interest, waiting for Uhtred to react as the tension rises in the room.
âIf youâre unhappy in my service, leave.â Uhtred retorts and her eyes dart to Sihtric who shoves himself up from the table.
âI have fought for you!â He angrily exclaims as he gets into Uhtredâs face who just smiles mockingly, an almost scoff coming from him.
âYou fight because you enjoy it, stay or go, i do not care.â Uhtred tells Sihtric and Freydis smirk, knowing this dispute will blow up any second.
âHe does not mean that, he does care.â Finan speaks up, trying to mend the situation before it runs out of hand even further, Freydis just lets out a small snicker at that, making Dagfinn glare at her again.
âStay or go, Sihtric Kjartansson, it is your choice.â Uhtred calmly tells Sihtric, keeping eye contact with the young warrior.
âJust sleep.â Finan says, a little more firm now.
âI will leave first light but I will return and if you are here still, then I will kill you.â Uhtred tells Sihtric and Freydis lips part in disbelief at what the older warrior just told the Dane. Murmurs break out under the Danes as they watch Uhtred leave the hall but she stays silent, somethingâs off about this but she canât quite put her finger on it.
âAbandon him, boy, youâre a dane, first and last.â Dagfinn speaks up and she roughly smacks him on his bicep, glaring at him but Finan is as quick as her with his reaction and he sneers a quick âquietâ at Dagfinn.Â
Later that night Sihtric frees all the Danes in return for them taking him to their camp, Freydis doesnât trust him that much is clear but she doesnât put it into words, she just silently stares at him as they travel, trying to figure him out.
The first few days back at the camp are quiet, Freydis keeps observing Sihtric, waiting for his mask to slip but it doesnât so she slowly starts lowering her guard and just trusting that he really has changed sides and now belongs to the danes.
Now sheâs sitting by the fire, nursing a cup of ale as she watches the wood burn, itâs night and everyone is sleeping but not her, she canât sleep, she never really can. She flinches when Sihtric suddenly sits down next to her, she didnât even hear him coming which surprises her since sheâs normally very alert and one of the first to notice something.Â
âWhy are you awake?â She asks him, not looking away from the flames that lick at the wood. Freydis takes a small sip from her cup as she awaits his answer.
âCouldnât sleep, Dagfinn snores rather loudly, doesnât he?â Sihtric asks her with a small smile, trying to get her to warm up to him. Freydis scoffs and nods, swirling her ale around in her cup.
âHe really does.â She snickers while shaking her head, remembering the time she slept in the room next to him for a week and didnât get a second of sleep at night because of his loud snoring.
Both of them donât speak up again that night, just enjoying the silence and each other's presence, or at least, Sihtric enjoyed her presence, the feeling wasnât mutual.Â
Seeing each other by the fire became a habit after that, they both would just sit in silence as they stared at the fire, Sihtric sometimes falling asleep because of his lack of sleep with Dagfinn snoring.
âWhy are you still here, Sihtric?â Freydis spoke up when he sat next to her for the fiftieth something time, staring into his heterochromic eyes to make sure he couldnât deceive her.
âUhtred was right, I do enjoy fighting.â He just shrugs, heâs not telling the whole truth but Freydis decides that she wonât pry any further so she just nods before looking back at the fire.
âWhy are you with Haesten?â Sihtric asks her, looking at her curiously, he canât figure the Danish woman out, sheâs so guarded and nothing gets through to her, she barely even shows emotions in her eyes. Sheâs a mystery he desperately wants to decipher.Â
âI donât know. I guess I enjoy fighting like you do.â She replies with a shrug. Freydis inspects her braids, noticing that theyâre starting to loosen, she pulls a face and lets out an agitated sigh, annoyed that she has to redo her hair but she pulls all the braids out anyways and starts rebraiding them.
âDo you want me to help you with that?â Sihtric quietly asks her, looking at her struggle with her hair.
âYeah, uhm sure, thatâd be nice, wait here, Iâm going to get my beads, it has been a long time since Iâve last had them in my braids.â She tells him before quickly rushing to her tent and returning a few minutes later with a small pouch of beads in her hand.
After that interaction, Freydis slowly started opening up to Sihtric, letting him in and letting him see more of her emotions. They grew closer over time and created a friendship on a foundation of mutual trust, a friendship that wasnât really a friendship at all, rather something more, something with a simmering tension that the other Danes picked up on too. âCan I tell you something?â Freydis asks Sihtric, sitting between his legs as he braids her hair again, carefully pulling at the strands of hair. Sihtric lets out a small hum in agreement and waits for her to say what she wants to say.
âIâm a bastard too, well sort of.â She blurts out, fiddling nervously with her hands.Â
âMy father already had a wife and kids when he started his affair with my mother, i was conceived and born out of wedlock so iâm a bastard according to most but when i was four summers old, my mother married my father and became his second wife.â She explains, Sihtric is paying attention to her words carefully and intently.
âWhen she married him, it was like I stopped being her child, my father already disliked me and his first wife did too, as did my half siblings. She was the only person I had and she just⌠She just stopped caring.â She softly tells him, itâs clear that she has a hard time talking about this so Sihtric pulls her up into an embrace, gently running a hand down her back in soothing motions, trying to support her.Â
âYou asked me why I was with Haesten and the truth is, he was an escape. I was well trained because my father cared about his status as a warrior but no one in that family cared for me in any other way than how I would affect their reputation. So when Haesten offered an out, I jumped at the chance, wanting to get as far away from my family as possible.â She confesses as she pulls away from his embrace slightly to look him in the eye. Sihtric just gently brushes the pads of his fingers over her face while smiling at her, thereâs not a single hint of judgment making Freydis relax again.Â
Freydis laughed as she looked at Sihtric watching her swim, completely bare since she had stripped her clothes off just a few minutes ago. His hair softly got blown around by the wind and hers moved with the current of the water. He was in the wind and she was in the water, both at peace and dancing around their feelings for each other.Â
She left the water soon after, joining him by the fire, now clothed. She wrings out her hair and sits a little closer to the fire to make it dry quicker.Â
âI was thinking last night.â She tells Sihtric who snickers and makes a lighthearted joke about that being a first. She glares at him but smiles anyway and gives him a friendly smack.Â
âSo you know how we both hate our fathers, right?â She asks him and he nods, waiting for her to continue.Â
âI was thinking, we could always just stop introducing ourselves with our last names and just decide on another last name.â Freydis tells him with a grin and sparkling eyes and he shares her excitement, they giggle about it together for the rest of the night, joking that now theyâre nobodyâs son and nobodyâs daughter.Â
Their relationship blossomed, the fleeting glances, the gentle touches, the smiles, everything became very real with a few kisses and nights spent together in the same bed being thrown into the mix. And for the first time in her life, Freydis truly felt like she belonged somewhere, like she meant something to someone. Sometimes she even had the passing thought about love, wondering if she truly loved him and if she wanted to spend her life with him, the answer to that question was always yes.Â
It doesnât faze her when Bloodhair dies, she expected this and she knows well enough that Skade had something to do with it but she doesnât word it. Freydis, Sihtric and some other Danes travel to a village soon after his passing.
She laughs with some of the other Danes when they arrive at the village but frowns when she sees Sihtric slipping off somewhere. Quietly she follows him only to see him stand in front of Uhtred, Finan and the others crouching behind Uhtred. She makes sure that she isnât seen as she watches the interaction, a knot forms in her throat as anxiety settles in.
âDo you have something to say to me, boy?â Uhtred asks Sihtric.
âI do.â The man sheâd grown to love states and unsheathes his sword. âYield to me.â Uhtred raises his hands and drops his knife and for a second all her anxiety leaves, thatâs until Sihtric shoves the tip of his sword into the ground and hugs Uhtred.Â
Her lips part as she watches the scene, tears welling up in her eyes as heartbreak and hurt flow through her. He tricked her, he used her and he betrayed her, thatâs all she can think at that point. She doesnât even try to be quiet as she darts away, back to her horse, she knows that he saw her and she knows that the other men also did but she canât bring herself to care as she hauls herself back onto her horse before galloping off again, tears streaming down her face as the realization settles in.Â
It hurt, it hurt so much when she thought that she had finally found her person, it turned out he just used her as a way to infiltrate the group she belonged to. She cried in Bridaâs arms when she arrived back at the camp, not even able to bring out a single word as she just sobbed into the womanâs chest.
Freydis follows behind Brida as the two women run together to where the sounds are coming from, Freydis has her bow in hand. They run onto the docs and see Uhtred sailing away with the others out of his group. Sihtricâs eyes widen as they fall on Freydisâ tear stained face but she just glares at him, hatred and rage in her eyes. Sihtric feels his heart shatter at the hatred in her eyes even though he knows that itâs well deserved, he betrayed her in the worst way imaginable and itâd surprise him if she ever found it in her heart to forgive him.
I kind of got carried away with this one so i'll have to make a part two but uhh enjoy :)

what do you think the ancients looked like under their masks?
ANON THANK YOU FOR ASKING I COULD CRY TEARS OF JOY
The short answer: Human-like, but dubiously. Very colorful, ornate, and diverse. Heavy on body modification: piercings, implants, tubes of all sorts, and dramatic face/eye changes are everywhere. It's hard to describe one thing they all are, because they're each so different.
The long answer: (my ocs are here!)
Okay, so, important bare minimums: They can have pretty much any skin tone, and come in all of the patterns and markings you can think of (whether they were born with them or had them added.) The default Ancient eye is exactly like a humans, but people can and often do get changes to their pupils and sclera/eye color. They have "hair" that sort of looks like worm grass. I figure some kinda splatoon inkling type logic applies when taking into mind haircuts and buzzes and all that. They generally have elven, goat-like, or other non-human type ears. Most if not all of them have openings in their bodies for tubes a la cyberpunk, because Ancient fashion gonna Ancient fashion.
Now for the fun/personalized part. Their faces!
Ancients come in a range from the most humanoid to the least. Note that "animaloid" is an EXTREMELY nebulous term and not exclusive to the one shown in the picture. I'm not yet sure how something like this would come about. I like to think this is a result of generations upon generations of extreme genome modification, or "animaloid" Ancients are a subspecies/branch off of whatever the humanoid Ancients are, OR they're the same species, but just have an insane amount of genetic variation. This is an issue for me to figure out another time. Regardless, there is no strict line between what constitutes an animaloid and what constitutes a humanoid. Both are bipedal and have a variable amount of pectorals/arms,* with the primary differences being in the face. There are some Ancients that you can look at and immediately classify as one of the two, but most of them fall somewhere in between, like "humanoid" Ancients with exaggerated facial proportions or "animaloid" Ancients that are just close enough to human looking that it becomes difficult to put a label on it. Trying to classify individual Ancients is often a fruitless endeavor, but having the general spectrum in mind is important.
*Can have 1-2 pairs of each: note that an Ancient with one pair of arms may have 2 pairs of pectorals but an Ancient with 2 pairs of arms cannot have only 1 pectoral set. Ancients with 2 pairs of arms are rare.
As mentioned a million times prior, Ancients are super gung ho about body modification, and things we deem extreme in human society are probably only uncommon or even unremarkable in Ancient society. Obviously, not every Ancient is making themselves into the next Rolf Buchholz. Some are more conservative about changing their body, some are more extreme. But the general idea is that not having ANY sort of change made, be it as minute as an ear piercing or as dramatic as horn implants, is bizarre.
I know there's other possible takes on the Ancients that are much more separated from human aesthetics, and I love those! But I wasn't really concerned about the spec bio-y aspect this time around. I have enough alien aliens in my roster already, so my Ancients are entirely a product of me having fun without much concern for making them super believable. Hopefully they look cool enough for that to be a valid excuse.
And finally, some pictures of my Ancients, because it's hard to get the full scope without examples. Some of these are from wips I hope to post someday, so you might see them again later. Also I'm trying to format them all nice and next to each other so they don't take up so much space, but tumblr is losing its mind right now so if it doesn't format right then whoops.

False Hero OCs
For the False Hero AU, @rovobeam and I have come up with some OCs (they were briefly mentioned among Macaque's photos in his house). So I wanted to talk about them a bit!
This is Rovo's OC, Yucheng!
Yucheng can be described as having uhhh 'anger issues', though whenever he's with friends, he tends to be more cocky and sarcastic. Deep down, he can be very protective of those he cares about. Rovo has described him as, "the embodiment of wasted potential". After his family moved him out to the city for school and a brighter future, he began skipping classes and hanging around the wrong crowd until he was expelled from the school. Instead of facing his family and returning home, he picked up a night job at a convenience store, making just enough to get by in a small apartment. Alcohol became a crutch for him to get through the day, the man often carrying a flask in his jacket, "Just for the kick of it." His drinking hasn't ruined him entirely but it poses itself as a difficult obstacle for him to get past on the road to him getting better. It's a sensitive topic for him tho, and he'll get aggressive if called out for his drinking.
It wasn't until meeting a group of struggling street kids that something sparked in him. He could see a younger version of himself in their eyes and it spurred him to take it upon himself to look after them. Yucheng did his best by offering advice and guidance he never had at their age, which then forced him to look back at himself. How could he help them when he was still stuck in his own rut? It's not a change that happens overnight, but slowly Yucheng is working his way back to the potential he once had.
Yucheng's stance on Macaque and Wukong is firmly on Macaque's side. Nothing anybody says will change his mind on who the good guy really is⌠Macaque made sure of it.
Yucheng was originally one of the first that questioned the legitimacy of who the real hero was after Wukong was freed from under the mountain. Macaque can't stand the idea of one of his close friends ever finding out the truth, so he did what he had to do. He waited for his friend to wander just a bit too far before sending a shadow clone disguised as the Corrupt Sage to attack him. He only meant to scratch Yucheng, but he had moved at the wrong moment and nearly took out his eye. It resulted in his scar, cementing the idea that Sun Wukong was a monster in his eyes.
This is my OC, Xiao Shi!
Xiao Shi is an investigative journalist and a close friend of MK. I mean, when you gamble with your life as much as she does, you're bound to become friends with the heroes of the city after the nth time they spot you in the middle of a big fight. Throw in the fact that her kid brother is nearly as big of a Macaque fan as MK, and she finds herself around the Monkie Crew quite a bit. Her brother's obsession is what originally led her to focus her journalism on Macaque, she had to maintain her status as the cool big sister, after all. Even though she no longer lived at home, she kept in close contact with her brother. Calling everyday, picking him up and taking them to eat together after school, she was always there for him.
Sadly, it couldn't stay that way forever. After an accident that led to their father passing away, and their mother already out of the picture, Shi got a bigger apartment to move into to care for her little brother. She dug herself deeper into work in an attempt to make enough to support both herself and her brother, though it just made things more strained between the siblings. With all her focus on her journalism, they never really had a chance to talk to each other about their dad. Xiao Shi couldn't bring herself to, she never wants to look weak in front of her little brotherâ she had to make sure he knew she was strong enough to take care of them both. This only really put a wedge between them, and with how often she busied herself with work, and with the stories she often chased, that meant more danger. Her brother hated itâ she'd sometimes receive threats against her life to drop something, but it only made her more determined. She threw caution to the wind if it meant she could take care of her brother, but in the mix of all the danger, she couldn't see the stress it was putting on him. She just wants to take care of him, and he just wants his sister back.
Xiao Shi's stance on Macaque and Wukong is one that changes the more she digs into it. Like Yucheng, she's close with Macaqueâ having someone write you in the spotlight like her can really stroke a person's ego. They have what I call a platonic Lois Lane-Superman dynamic. However, that changes the day she decides to go too far for an article.
She decides to write a piece around Sun Wukong, something to dives into the psyche of the monster. One day, that leads to her snooping around his home while he's off fighting Macaque. She takes MK with her just in case, but they end up getting separated and she eventually comes face to face with the sage himself. After a⌠chaotic interaction before MK manages to swoop in and get her out of there, she's left questioning why he didn't take the opportunity to kill her. She begins to seek him out more, and realizing her profession, so does Wukong. Despite her distrust at first, their interactions lead to her article developing into an exposÊ on the truth behind Sun Wukong.
Whether she's able to publish it or not all depends on how fast Macaque can catch onto it.

Hi, Ray! The author of Foxes, Pillars, and Sea-salt Rust here!!! Someone recommended my fic here????? I'm so honored!!! đĽš
So I would like to put forth my own recommendations too. I put it in my fic's AN's also, but I highly recommend Far Beyond the Woods of Dawn by wolfghost (and the entire Drag My Dark Into The Dawn AU series the fic is part of, and I suggest you access the series while logged in, because a couple of the fics are registered users only, I promise it's worth it) and The Weaver by Concerned_Brown_Bread! Both feature OCs as protagonists, a Senju for the former (Tobirama's granddaughter) and an Uchiha for the latter (Itachi's elder twin sister).
Drag My Dark has to be one of the most immersive fiction experiences I've had, up there with the manga Otoyomegatari (if you know, you know), the character psychology is top-notch, the author expertly weaves worldbuilding into the narration in a way that it's so seamless and not at all like an infodump, I like to describe it as âa slice-of-life except that the characters live in a horrible war-torn war and that affects how they navigate their livesâ. The world just feels lived-in. There's information about how wars cause sanctions and prices to rise and a good highlight on what it's like to be a civilian in this kind of world. The protagonist is still a child, but the author captures children in their writing so well. She's a traumatized young child and she acts like that!! Her trauma informs how she views everything, and her being raised by civilians (long story, read the prequel to find out lol) affects how she views shinobi and the world at large! I can't wait for what the story has in store for her. We're entering the Kirigakure arc đ (also heavily featuring so far are Tsunade and Kushina!! Kushina's chapter has got to be one of my favorites)
The Weaver takes on a different vibe and path regarding the politics and worldbuilding, but also really plausible and I love how the author incorporates academic excerpts from the future like snippets from a history book into the chapters itself like it just gives this work such a grand feel of âoh things are gonna have consequences, we're along the ride of a big, world-changing taleâ. The characterization is top-notch in this fic. You really do feel the complicated dynamics between the family members, how for all that Itachi is a prodigy he is also just a child and thus lacks the perspective to see propaganda for what it is, and the author does so brilliantly by contrasting him against his twin sister, the protagonist, who's a reborn adult (a politician in her past life who died of heat stroke before election day, which is objectively the funniest premise for a reincarnation EVER). The protagonist is witty, smart, funny, relatable, and just all-around very good. She lives rent-free in my head, can you tell? I know the fic is on hiatus but I had the privilege to read the unpublished chapters because â¨beta⨠and I promise you, it's very well worth it.
Both fics give weight to civilians instead of immediately dismissing them as âweak and stupidâ, I love love love both fics and please please please read them I promise they're amazing! They have very different vibes but they're both amazing.
As for my fic, yeah I did base my protagonist off of Sansa Stark, LOL. I even tried to incorporate Sansa's lines from the first book into my own writing to really sell the vibe!
I love Whirlpool Queen, Maelstrom King but the politics in Foxes, Pillars, and Sea-salt Rust take on a very different shape from WQMK'sâ a bit more like wolfghost's Drag My Dark. I too will feature civilians in this fic! Daimyo's and nobility and merchants and commoners alike! Please look forward to it! I have Plans⢠for Uzushio's politics and its role in the world as a whole.
Hello lovely!!! Glad you dropped by to drop some recs!
